Need help with songlist...I want to play these artists but which songs should i play by them??

OKay....these are songs and/or artists i want to include at the wedding but not sure what songs to pick or when to play them, etc....

Everlong - FooFighters (when should i play it)? Do you think people will dance to the regular version of this song, or should i pick a different time to play it??

Any other Foofighters songs that might be good to dance to? i love foofighters, just not sure for the wedding

Aerosmith.....what song should i play by them that ppl will dance to? Walk this way? any others that might be good?

Linkin Park - I'm thinking Bleed it Out it always gets me pumped up. And possibly Encore/Numb by JayZ/LP as the last song but not sure....FH wants to play One Step Closer which I love also. It gets us both pumped up since we are both huge LP fans....but is it too depressing for a wedding??? Do you think it even matters? Here is a link to the youtube video if you are unsure

U2 - I'm thinking ....Vertigo......Any other songs by them that are danceworthy??

Incubus - any good dancing songs? I thought about stellar for cake cutting but we're not sure. Any other songs i can include that ppl can dance to??

Greenday? (anyone playing anything by them??)

Billy Joel - i am a HUGE fan...i like every single song, but trying to figure out what the guests will like best and whats best for dancing. I'm thinking...'only the good die young' and 'you may be right'....what do you think? Maybe Italian Restaurant but the beginning and end are slow so might be weird for dancing.

Bruce Springstein? what's a good dancing song??

hmm....i think that is all the questions i have for now. I appeciate any advice! TIA!

Here's a few suggestions:

Foo Fighters - 'Everlong' - we're playing the acoustic version during the ceremony 'walk in time' (starting about 10 minutes before the ceremony when guests are settling in.)

Aerosmith - 'love in an elevator' is fun to dance to!

U2 - 'Beautiful Day' is a great song and i think theres a dance version

Greenday - your last song of the night can be 'Time of your life' ( i think that's the name of it)

for bruce springsteen...i can't remember the name of the song, but the music video is the one where an very young courtney cox gets pulled up on stage to dance with him

and for U2, try listening to songs from the album that came out after Achtung Baby (I forget the name of it)...it had a lot more dancy tunes

and Billy Joel...Uptown Girl

For Billy Joel, I would definately say 'Only the Good Die Young'.

Foo Fighters - There's an acoustic version of Everlong, maybe that could be a slow dance? It doesn't really have any beat at all, though. I thought about playing 'Walking After You' as a slow dance because it's one of my faves and has a pretty acoustic version on the X-Files soundtrack, but the lyrics are kind of breakup-y.

Aerosmith - Walk this Way is probably good for a fast one. Dude Looks like a Lady? It has silly lyrics but a good beat. None of their songs are exactly dance numbers, but every wedding I've been to plays 'Living on a Prayer' and every single person runs out onto the floor and 'dances' to it, so why wouldn't that work for Aerosmith too?

U2 - Vertigo, Beautiful Day for fast songs. Maybe Mysterious Ways - and there are tons of dance remixes for it, and for pretty much every single on Achtung Baby. 'All I want is You' (with the last 4 minutes chopped off!) is good for a slow one.

Greenday - EVERYONE will get up and dance to 'Basket Case.'

Billy Joel - I agree with 'Only the Good Die Young' for dancing.

Bruce Springsteen - I would think that 'Born to Run' fits into the 'Livin on a Prayer' category where people will run out to the middle of the dance floor to sing along and pump their fists. You might get actual dancing to 'Rosalita' or 'Dancing in the Dark.'

Incubus is tough. My first thought was 'Stellar' but verses aren't danceable even though the chorus is. As for Linkin Park... 'Breaking the Habit'? Kind of tough, but if your friends are fans, they'll run out there for it.

HTH! I'm going through the same issue with my fave artists/songs because I'm super into indie rock, which is not exactly 'dancey'. Have fun!
