I'd like to make a toast/speech to my FH during our wedding reception - I basically want to thank him for working so hard so that we could have the wedding of my dreams - cheesy yeah, a little, but i want him to know how much i appreciate everything he has done for me....i know what i want to say but i'm not sure how to start the speech....do i thank our guests first then go into it? do i not acknowledge our guests and just talk directly to FH? im thinking i should thank everyone for coming first, but how do i go into my speech for FH? i need help!

oh ok that is a good start - i needed a way to flow into it....
ok, my face is going to be purple while i am doing this - like SUPER embarassed - but that is the biggest reason i want to do it - just because he knows how frightened ill be to do it, like he would NEVER expect me to talk in front people - so knowing that i did that for him i think will mean a lot, he def will be shocked hahahaha....

FH actually did this to me at our reception...it was beautiful and totally unexpected. He thanked me and just for planning so hard to have the beautiful wedding we had, it really moved me...I think FH will love it! He just said he wanted to take a moment to thank his wife, because without her we wouldn't have this beautiful night and so on and so on....

I think you are very sweet for wanting to do it and I agree with the above...it's an excellent segway.

every night when i am trying to fall asleep all these great lines come into my head - but i cant just get out of bed and start writing without FH asking what i'm doing hahahaha....i am starting to put together some of my thoughts - i just want to say something short and sweet.....i know we'll both be embarassed but i know my FH and i know that it would mean a lot to him - i dont think i thank him enough and i just want him to know how much i appreciate him and all of his hard work - b/c he is the hardest worker i know....ahhh he's the best

Ahh, he will definitely be surprised and like it since he knows your not a public speaker..see if i grabbed the mic and started a speech dh would've been like, 'of course ms. speech wants to make a speech! LOL! '

I also wanted to take a quick moment to thank my wonderful husband for giving me the wedding of my dreams. Today has been beautiful and will be burned into my memory forever . Without you, none of this would have been possible. Thank you for this wedding day and more importantly thank you for loving me.'
Ok was that cheesy or what! LOL...not trying to write this for u but just saying the first thing that came to my mind and what I would say to my husband.

PS - I hate public speaking too. I did a speech at my sisters wedding and memorized it for the most part. However I forgot the ending...the most important part and lifted my paper to read it...well I couldnt find the part....and my hand shook so badly. It was kind of funny actually and I apologized for losing my part and everyone chucked! But I got through it and she seemed very pleased.
PSS - Make sure to tell your dj you are doing a speech and to keep it quiet from dh. Maybe do it before dinner. I wouldnt do it during MOH, BM speeches. Too much talking and will take away the sentimental factor if many more people are giving speeches at that time. JMO though.

yes i am going to tell the DJ to make sure i dont chicken out!! b/c im so afraid ill chicken out - but ill probably be on such a high that day that ill be okay to do it.....i started writing a rough draft - ill post it when im done - ill probably want some help making it flow better....and good idea to do it seperate from the other speeches....
