Need help with the itinerary for reception....

I am trying to write out the scheduale of the day, and I realized Im not sure what should happen when in the reception. In what order is everyone doing:

First Dance
Parents Dance
Cake Cutting
Bo-Q throw /anniversary dance
Garter toss (if having)
Announcement for Guest book
Toasts
Table visits

Thanks for any help, I cant think of the order things should happen around the dinner!

YOu can work this out with your DJ - theyv'e done it a million times, but here's how mine went
First dance
Toast
DInner and dancing
table rounds
Cake cutting
dance with parents
we didn't do garter or bouquet toss
Dessert
more table rounds
more dancing
last dance

It goes sooo fast!

We are doing our First Dance after we are introduced. Then to follow will be our toast by our BM. Our Parent Dances will be held after our spotlight dance which will be held after our cake cutting ceremony. After that instead of the b-ok and garter throw and/or anniversary dance, we are going to have our parents wedding song played have them dance and then give our mothers a b-ok and our fathers a garter. We are going to be attending our cocktail hour and do alot of our socializing then but in the beginning of our reception we will be visiting our tables.

You really do not have to worry about organizing the order because the reception hall especially the matre'd and the DJ know the order of things unless you are doing something in a different order.

Let's see.... As Jen T. said, your DJ could probably help you out, but here is my suggestion. I am not going to have the guest book announced, I am going to just have it at the place card table, maybe with a nice saying, blah blah blah... As for the itinerary:

First Dance
Toasts
Parents Dance
Bo-k Toss/Anniversary Dance
Garter Toss
Cake Cutting
Dessert

Those I guess are the main events of a reception... As for the Dinner, obviously that fits in somewhere between the toasts, dancing and parents dance... I'll be walking to the guest tables throughout my entire reception... Kinda take a break from the dance floor, ya know? And at the same time break up the monotany (sp?) of speaking about the same thing to people! :o) Good luck!

We didn't do the bouquet or garter toss.
