Ok so I've decided that I want to invite both my 7th grade teacher and my 10th/12th grade teacher to the wedding. They both really inspired me, and I'd like to have them there. I'm getting STDs in order and am collecting addresses. I have my 7th grade teachers addy, but not the other one.
Do you think he will think it's weird if I e-mail him and ask for his address? Or should I just send the STD and eventually the invite to the school that he works at?
I've e-mailed him before to ask English related stuff.
I wouldn't even bat an eyelash about e-mailing to ask for an address, but one of my BMs said that she thinks he will 'want to know why this student is bothering him' if I e-mail him and that he 'isn't going to come anyway'
and another of my BMs said I shouldn't e-mail him, but I should contact the alumni association from my high school and get his address (which i know she means well, but just sounds stalkerish to me)
HELP!!!!!!!! How do I obtain this address? Or just send it to the school? Teachers, would you be weirded out by a student inviting you to his/her wedding!?
ETA: He doesn't work at the school that I went to anymore, so I can't just poof in unfortunately

Re: need helpppppp!!!!
lol I actually told FH that I wanted to invite our old teacher to our wedding...FH and I met in HS in our music class and our teacher was so cool and he knew that FH liked me so the last day of class FH and I were walking out together and our teacher said 'good luck you two' lol but FH said that he probably wouldn't come...I don't think it's weird though, whats the worst that could happen he saids no. I don't know how I would go about getting the address but I would just be careful because you don't want to come off stalkerish lol. Maybe go up to the school and maybe they could give you a visitors pass and you can visit his class and talk to him personally.

I think sending an email explaining why would probably make the person feel honored.

I'm inviting my 10th and 11th grade SS teacher who was also my varsity softball coach. I have his address b/c i use him to get letters of recommendation.
I would ask him in email. It's not like you haven't kept in contact with him at all.

Just e-mail him! It's no big deal. Your BM is making it out to be something bigger than it is. He might be curious as to why you want to know and if he is, just tell him! I'm sure he'd be thrilled!

I wouldn't send it to the school.. I feel like it's just more reliable to send it to someone home. Would it be weird for you to tell him you need it for the wedding invite?

Do you know anyone else in that school who could perhaps help you get the address? Or if anything make up an excuse that you would like to use him to get future reference letters but most of the time the forms need to be mailed to the persons house. I would mail it to the school though. If you want maybe you could physically go to the school one day and hand them the std.
Btw, it's great to know i'm not the only one thinking of inviting a past teacher.

I don't see anything wrong with emailing him. In my opinion, I think it's much better than sending it to the school where it could get picked up by the wrong hands, or just not make it to his classroom.

Does he/she know you're getting married??
I think a simple e-mail explaining that you'd like their address b/c they really helped you to become the person you are today and you want to invite them to your wedding.
I think they would be honored and its not at all odd. It's just an invite, they have the opportunity to RSVP no if they don't feel comfortable attending.
