Hi Everyone..... Im getting married this Sept. and we dont know where to go for our HM!??!!! We are torn between Aruba & Mexcio (cancun area). Can anyone PLEASE offer any advice on a good, fun, edible food & SAFE hotel??? THANK YOU.

We are going to Aruba and staying at the Occidental, it is all inclusive, so is the Divi on the other side of the Island. I heard good things about both places but out TA rec. the Occi, so we went there. Good Luck with your decision!

IMHO, Cancun is more of a 'spring break' type of location .... I'd pick Aruba between the 2 ....

I agree! Definitely go to Aruba! More adult and gorgeous weather all year around!!

Aruba is great! I went there for my HM. BUT if you go its def worth getting the inclusive! We didnt but should have because meals can get expensive!

FH and I were in Aruba a few weeks ago at the Marriott. FIL's have a time share and been going for the last 11 years. It's beautiful!!! Weather is perfect.

I vote for Aruba also - a friend of mine went to Cancun for vacation 2 falls ago (right after Katrina) and they got stuck in another hurricane! they're predicting a bad hurricane season this year so I wouldn't take a chance. JMO!

Everyone I know who went to Aruba absolutely loved it and if they had not already done so swears to go back. I've never been...yet, but its definitely on my list of things to do.

fh and i got engaged in aruba in august. aruba is great. we stayed at the raddisson. i would recommend staying in palm beach.
also get a direct flight. we had connecting flights and we went down during a hurricane and were the last flight that day out of miami and we came home to new york when the hurricane was hitting new york. so we had some delays coming into new york.

LOL I, too, used Tom Varghese and highly recommend him on the LIW boards and to my friends.
Since you're going in September, that is hurricane season. I would avoid the east side of Mexico - which is where Cancun is located.
If you only want to decide between those two choices, I would definitely choose Aruba. I'm sure Tom could get you a great deal.
If you want other options, definitely email Tom and pick his brain about places, prices, etc. Good luck!
