If you received a clock as a favor that did not have a battery in it, would you think that was tacky?

I do not think so. If they were to go and buy it they would have to put a battery in it. I would not worry!

kinda tacky... maybe oversight... or batteries are pretty darn expensive. Think about it when you get a picture frame favor does it have a picture in it

Honestly, I would think it was an over-sight. Watches come with batteries, so maybe the person transfered the idea. I've seen tacky gifts in my life, but this one wouldn't bother me.

depends... if its one of those AA type that everyone has at home then id think its ok, but if its one of those special cell type batteries... then it should be provided

I would only think it was tacky if the box said 'batteries included' and there were no batteries in the box!

kptoys - LOL!
A funny picture frame story. Yes, we did receive a favor with a photo in it and since these people are relatives, we feel obligated to leave the photo in it as well. I vote for no photo, and again, the battery doesn't both me.

I would think it's a mistake. I'm sure whoever gave it to you didn't realize it.
I think it's tacky that the clock company didn't include the battery in the first place.
oversight...I wouldn't think about getting batteries

I don't think its tacky at all. Leaving the price tag on and seeing that it was $9.99 w/ 50% off is tacky.

I'm going to go against the grain here....but if i was giving a clock as a favor I would definately put in a battery. Any time I give a gift that requires batteries I always include them otherwise you are giving something that isn't working.
I would go so far as call it tacky if I recieved one without a battery but I do kind of expect it.

Wouldn't bother me at all. I find it kind of silly to be worried about it.

Re: Need Honest Opinions - Tacky or Not Tacky
I don't have any opinion either way, but if you're worried about it, my FIL buys batteries at the dollar store. They probably won't last as long, but it would serve the purpose.....
