It looks like we may be going down to Florida for a weekend in May, probably staying in Orlando.
Not planning on a Disney vacation, just need to be near Melbourne florida where my family is.
According to Mapquest, Orlando is just over an hour from Melbourne and we can get a direct flight there. Melbourne has an airport, but can't get a nonstop flight to that airport.
I don't have any reccs, but I can tell you to absolutely avoid The Rosen Plaza. It's horribly run, the staff is unhelpful and nasty, it's way way overpriced, and plus we had a little visitor in our room - not what you'd expect from a 'four star' hotel.

No problem! One of my best friends lives in Orlando - I'll ask her if she knows of any good places to stay.

I'm going down to Orlando the week of the 20th-27th of april. We ae staying at the Springhill suites in the marriot village..it's right outside of Disney. It was pretty reasonable, and it got great reviews. Check out Tripadvisor.com. It's very informative.
