Re: Need Hugs
putting an animal to sleep is just as painful as losing a relative/friend. just make sure to surround yourself with people who are compassionate and understand what it's like to lose a pet. some people who have never had a pet don't understand the pain and they can't possibly imagine why you're so upset. like any loss, it gets less painful with time, but it never fully goes away. just think of the great life you provided her with. she was lucky to have you.

Thanks! yes i agree that people who never had a pet can totally understand the feelings....and i appreciate all of your hugs! it only gets difficut at night when my other dog Rocco, has to go out in the yard and will not b/c she is not hear any more...she was the Alpha female of the house.....so that is the part i hate....but i give rocco lots of hugs!

Awhhh, i am sorry but if the vet said it was the right thing to do then you have to beleive it. Just think, you would not want the dog to be in any pain. I'm sorry.

I didn't have a dog, but I did this with my cat last year. Reading your heart break, takes me back , and I felt the same way. There are times I just cry. He was going to be 11. It gets easier, but to be honest, the hurt never goes away. Try answering a 7 year old ( my son ) when he makes a statement, 'But mommy, I thought cats had 9 lives' But in your case, you have another dog, and he'll keep your spirits high. I have my cat Sam's ashes at my bedside along with his picture. It helps the process of grief each and everyday. A dat at a time, thats how I do it.
