ladies, FH just called to say that he was laid off :( through no fault of his own, his department doesn't have enough billable hours and lost a project that they bid on.... this totally stinks...the wedding's less than 5 months away...

I'm sure he'll find something else, but the kicker is that this job is in Virginia. I know some of you know my dilemma of VA vs NY. But, I just got a teaching job in Virginia on Friday. And now he's unemployed there. We want to be in NY, so maybe this is a blessing in disguise -- except now I have no job here. I thought everything was all set on Friday... man.... so now what if he finds a job in NY quick, but I stil dont get one here??? everything's all screwy now...

Hello-I can understand how hard this is. About three Weeks ago I got laid off for the same reason-it is scary and a bad time. However-I have made the most of this little 'vacation', and after all job searching is through each day I am getting tons done for the Wedding. I am sure he will find a better job, and everything will work out.

Have him go to unemployment immediately. WHen I was laid off it was the best decision I ever made. If you want to stay in NY, then get his butt up here. You'll both be able to find a job.
