Need ideas for Wedding gifts for my FH!!!!

My FH is the type when he wants something he buys it the day it comes out. (He's a big DVD and book man) Shopping for the holidays is hard and so is his birthday. I thought I figured out the best wedding present!!! (We are not your normal big spenders and am lost)

I wanted to get him a remote car starter. Out of nowhere today he tells me he wants to get a remote car starter. We have never uttered the words about a car starter, so I can't believe this!!! Can anyone help me get a gift for him that he'd be able to use? He has really nice watches from being in two weddings and never wears them. Help me!!! TIA

my suggestion is an expensive watch. One it is like jewerly he could keep it for a long time. Two if you guys have a son he could pass it on to him and it will be very special since its your wedding present for him. third it is a nice way to return the love for the money he spent on your ring.

I wish I could help you on this but I have no idea myself..
Although I like the idea of a nice watch, he told me about a million times he absolutely does not want that. He is into high end electronics, we're talking stuff in the thousands of dollars range. He is so hard to buy stuff for!!

Does he have any hobbies? You could get his something associated with his hobby. Or the plasma TV sound good. I'm sure it would be a big hit.

Wow. I am obviously out of my league here. I'm looking for something under $300. It's not that I am putting a price on his love. This is all I have, no credit cards either. We are paying for our own wedding and honeymoon, so our finances are drained. He would kill for a plasma TV, but it's not happening right now. We said we'd discuss it after the wedding.

I do like the idea of having something for him to pass down to a (God willing) son. But, as I stated in my first post, he already has two nice watches and doesn't wear them. What else is there that can be passed on? My brain stopped.

how about a nice set of cuff links that he can wear on the wedding day? You can definitely get those for less than $300 and you can have them engraved.

Don't feel bad... I suggested it but we are actually not exchange gifts or if we do it will be a small token. We are paying for the wedding ourselves so we are broke. The reason I did think of it is b/c I did purchase him an expensive watch a couple of years ago and I wish I could have given it to him as a wedding gift. but, if i didn't buy it he would have bought it himself and I did not want that. Men are not patient

Does your FH wear glasses? I'm getting mine laser eye surgery. Joe cried when I told him! Hes been blind without his glasses all his life.

What about cuff links that he could wear for the wedding and then pass down to his (God willing) son As for other suggestions what about gift certificates, or tools, clothes, tickets to a game. Sorry, I'm not much help, I'm in the same boat you are.

how about a card telling him how much you love him? you can use the $ for the HM, on your house or for something for the two of you to do.

I am going the nice wiatch route, i think....FH has a sport watch and a dress watch but I want to get him a very nice dress watch....I knwo he woudl wear it everyday and love it.... cufflinks are great or if you want something less traditional, electronics are always loved by males :)

Nice. And is that a chocolate lab?!?!? I love them. I am so allergic though. But I play with them, and have to wash up and deal with the consequences later. I love labs!!!

He is truly the most wonderful dog in the world.

I think the cufflinks are a great idea--I got them for my Dh on our negative 1 year till our wedding anniversay & he loved them. Tiffany's has them for like 125 & he could wear it the day of the wedding. He loved them so much that he bought them for his GMs & dads too. i thought it was a really great gift to have.

I got my Dh a pocketwatch, a decanter for liquor by waterford that he wanted & a new cologne.
