Need Mini-Vacation help, please! Poconos, Catskills, etc.

I want to book a couple nights in the Poconos or Catskills or something....definitely something within driving distance (3-4 hours TOPS.)

Neither one of us has ever gone skiing before, so we'll probably stick to snow mobiling, etc.

2 questions:

a) Where can we go? Anyone have any places to suggest?

and

b) What else is there to do, other than snow mobile?

Whenever we need a vacation we go to New Hampshire, in fact we are going next weekend. There is outlet shopping, sleigh riding, horseback riding, lots of food, overlooking beautiful mountains. We just love to drive around in the snow too!

that sounds so nice - but how far away is that? We don't have an SUV, so we're hoping for NO snow driving!

we went to ceasars resorts in the poconos for the honeymoon. its maybe 3 hrs away

Caesars Paradise Stream Resort in the Poconos. It is about a 2 1/2 hr drive.

We try to go 2 times a year! Love it!!!!!

Outlet Shopping, Horseback riding, snow mobiling and plenty to do on the resort!

Whatever you do, do NOT go to Friar Tuck Inn, I think it's in catskill, NY. The website makes it look like this great spa. I can;t even tell you ow disgusting it was. everything was old and musty, and iewww....don't even get me started.

I love Killington, VT. You can ski, snow mobile, snow tube, etc. There's Queche Gorge close by, Woodstock village, and lots of covered bridges. FH and I go there every year (except this year) for a weekend.

There's the Lake George area upstate (4-5hrs away). You can snow mobile and go outlet shopping in the same weekend!

Can I make a suggestion? If you are just looking for a place to spend time together not really looking to do much, why don't you try Montauk Manor on season they are pricy but off season they are cheap and the resturant in the hotel is really good! We used to go for a weekend every January before we got married.

wow my family has been going there every yr for at least 20 years I had not heard it had gotten that bad
