I am trying to negotiate a honeymoon package and got one quote that seemed better than the rest, so I sent out an e-mail to all the other agents I had spoken with asking of they could match it with better options or beat it.
One of the agents e-mailed me back and said she would try to match it or beat it, but first wanted me to send her 'proof' of the quote, like the e-mail with the quote, contact info for the travel agent, their phone numbers, etc. Basically proof to make sure the offer is legit and I am not just making something up.
I am wondering if I should do it? Is it bad for me to give out the other agent's info? Can it hurt me in any way?
I am not sure what the other agent needs it for, except to verify it is true (which is fine, because it is), but I don't want her calling the guy directly and telling him my name, what I am doing with trying to get better rates, etc.
Opinions please!!!

I would send it. Hey the wedding business is all about competition with these vendors. Go ahead it can't hurt.

I wouldn't send it... Either she can beat it or she can't! Regardless of proof. If she wants your business bad enough that is. You may also consider maybe sending her just the quote and not the agents info.

I would send it too, I dont think it can hurt you in anyway..it makes sense that the agent wants to verify the better deal you said you were given. I dont see why one agent would call another either.

I would send it and just ask for her/his discretion-pls don't call the other agent, etc. I would also just ask why she does need all of that info.

I'm in sales (not travel related) and a lot of customers will send me quotes from competitors asking me to beat it. This is very helpful because I know exactly what I'm up against. I WOUD NEVER even consider contacting the other vendor. Send it, it can't hurt you!

I would say that if you do send the second agent the info and she does contact the agent who gave you the good quote, I probably wouldn't want to book her anyway.
