Need Officiator/Ceremony Music Help

So I finally decided I'm just gonna have my ceremony at my RH. It's the cheapest and easiest way for the December wedding. However, does anyone know of a cheap officiator. My RH recommended someone who charges $300....can you find cheaper? Also, I need ceremony music. My DJ charges an extra $ 250 for that. I was wondering if there is a cheaper solution? Anyone help would be much appreciated. TIA.

Not really sure how to help you with an officiant....but as far as ceremony music, I think $250 isn't bad at all!! Depends on what you want. Do you want live musicians? You can find college students - through the Julliard music program or even Brooklyn College of Music and I think they charge about $125 an hour. I'm still debating on whether or not to do that....ugggh budget is sooo tight and I'm a musician so I want the best! But I might just settle for the organist/vocalist at my church because I have to pay for them, regardless if I use them! GRRR on the church in that department!!!

I think $300 is a pretty good price...

we used Rev Deb from Ceremonies of the Heart she was great and in that price range!

For ceremony music we went with a single violinist... she sounded awesome and most people didnt realize it was only one violin! www.cynthiamarcus.com

I am in the same boat! Trying to find an officiant under that amount is difficult.

So far, I have found the following:

Rev. Dr. Maria Hughes
516-735-2759
www.interFaithWeddingsUSA.Com
Her fee starts at $250

She is the only one I have found under that price if you can believe it! I am meeting with her on Monday night. I will let you know how it goes!

Also, you could always try to find retired judges. I know some ladies on here have used some who I think are cheaper.

A sitting judge is less than $300 by law. $250 is a great price for ceremony music. I doubt you can do much better.

that sounds like a really good rate for an officiant. my dj wanted to charge us $150 for ceremony music. we decided to go with a violinist who was around the same.

Wow that's cheap for an officiant though. I guess it depends on who you would want to marry you. judge, rev., etc. A priest would be more that's for sure. I've seen them for no less than $500. Although I haven't done much shopping yet for one.
