Need Opinion

Hey girls -

I have been MIA from LIweddings for a while Had a hectic past month. Anyhow I wanted to get some of your opinions on something:

A little background first - FH and I will be together 12 years this September which means that we will be dating over 12 years before we are married in October. We didnt get engaged until after 10 1/2 years to all of our close friends and family's final relief

Soooooooo - I really wanted to use the 'Hallelujah Chorus' as our recessional hymn at the ceremony. I think it would be a really cute twist and that pretty much all of our guests at the church will get it considering they have all known us for SO long.

Any thoughts?? If you feel it's not appropriate or tacky please explain why. I wont get offended

WELL THE first thing i did was laugh when reading this, i think its funny and its your wedding so if you like it then go for it. It shows your personalities too so why not

i want to use the theme from superman as our recessional. but not sure that's happening yet.

I think it's totally fine. there isn't much that you cannot do these days - it's still a beautiful song, and those who get it will think it's funny.

Thanks girls - I thought it was a cute idea too but I wasnt sure if it was tacky or not. Besides, our whole ceremony is so serious and whatnot (we are having an Orthodox ceremony) so I kinda enjoyed the thought of ending with a little humor

I would definitely do it.....it's classical music anyway, not like a cartoon themesong, so people really shouldn't find it tacky!

(not saying that a cartoon themesong would be tacky, I think it would be awesome....but for those who might find fault with that, this is still classical music!)
