I have three little kids coming to the wedding. They are 6, 5, and 3 (almost 4). We are planning on getting a babysitter to keep an eye on them during the reception. I was thinking about seating the kids at a small table right next to their parents' tables. But I would have little activities for the babysitter to do with them during the meal if they get bored. I figured that this would give the adults a better chance to enjoy the party. What do you guys think?

I think its a good idea, the parents will definitely be able to enjoy themselves knowing someone else is watching their kids, especially if they are in the room b/c they can check on them whenever they want

I am doing this as well, but I am having about 12 children ranging in age from 1 to 8. I am also taking it one step further and choosing a table close to a door, so that if a child decides to make a scene, he or she can be quickly ushered out.

I think it's a great idea! I'm also thinking of getting a sitter for the reception. I will also have about three or four children there.
