Need opinions...

Need opinions...

Well, heres my problem, I am getting married on 10/3/03 & had to cancel on my hall (I don't want to go into specifics because I am trying to get my full deposit back, if anyone needs further information they can forum mail me). So now with 9 months to go I have to find a new reception & ceremony location. I really don't know how I am keeping myself together because I feel like I am in the middle of a wedding nightmare. All I can say is thank god for my mom who is handling everything. I really don't want to change my date & she has set up appointments with 5 places that are available on my date for Sunday. The place are Middle Island Country Club, The Meadow Club, Majestic Gardens, Larkfield Manor, & Stonebridge Country Club. I would appreciate any & all opinons you girls have on these places. I thank you all in advance for all your help.

I've heard great things about the Meadow Club, and I was at at wedding at Larkfield Manor last year and it was very nice.

I highly recommnd the Meadow Club. My sister got married there and the food and service was GREAT!!!

We were going to book the Meadow Club, but our hesitation was that the drive was too far between the church (in Oyster Bay) and them. We heard great things from other people about them and I LOVED the place-plus the price is great. I've never been to an event there but I know a couple of people who have and said the food was incredible. We were actually on our way to drive out there to book with them when we decided to stop at Fox Hollow one final time to negotiate the price. Isn't it funny how things work out?

I am getting married at Larkfirld Manor. I am going for a food tasting on Sun. Yhey are making the food for us. If we dont like it we get out deposit back. I thought that was a good deal. They are really nice and really good price. Well I think so. Good luck

My parents looked at Stonebridge (I'm out of state) for me, and it was my second choice, it sounded gorgeous- with a gazebo, and beautiful grounds, awesome food (they had lunch there) I would definitely check them out. Plus it is a pretty central location. I went with the Bayview House @Captain Bill's b/c I live in Bay Shore, so it was really convenient!

I went to a wedding at larkfield Manor last July, and the food was incredible. We having been looking for reception halls as well, and the prices are in line with what everyone else is charging, but the food is better, and the alcohol choices are better than most.

I live in the Stonebridge Estates development which is attached to the country club/catering hall. It is beautiful!! I have seen weddings done outside there under the gazebo and it is breathtaking. The ballroom is beautiful too and it is adjacent to an outside patio where the cocktail hour can be held. Definitely check it out!

i'm sorry you are in this bind--i haven't been to those places-but my friend is having her wedding @ the meadow club in port jeff this 10/11 and so far has had good things to say about it-

my brother went to a wedding @ the middle island country club and said it was great!!

Majestic gardens is good, with my friends church they always have a christmas breakfast and the food and service is greatt!!! good luck and i hope this was helpful

I would definitely recommend The Meadow Club....it has nice grounds and their food is good. I am having my reception at Sunset Harbour. The reason why I didnt choose The Meadow Club is because I want to be the only wedding at the Hall. Hope everything works out!
