What do you think about wearing a white dress to someone elses wedding? I have a wedding to go to and I have this white dress, its not ALL white-it has black ribbon and Im considering wearing it. I know Im married but I didnt notice anyone wearing white at my wedding...so I dont know how I would feel as a bride....what should I do?

i would play it on the safe side and not wear it. i wouldn't take the risk of hurting the bride's feelings. though, if it were my day, i wouldn't care. and, i know we shouldn't care what other people think, but I am sure people would say things! ('can you believe that girl who wore white?')

Honestly, I would wear another dress....Anything with the base color of white i would say is a nono...but thats my feelings....I would really air to the side of caution and pick another dress...you dont know how the bride, her family and other guests will react. And would u want to be the center of attention in that way (worst case scenario ofcourse!)

I wouldn't do it, just because it MIGHT upset the bride - and you don't want to be that person. Even if everyone on here were to agree that it's OK, that doesn't mean that particular bride will be alright with it, and it's worth not stepping on toes on her special day, I think.

Hey peggie!!! IMO I would be a pissed off bride if someone wore white.....especially since I am in ivory. I went to a wedding where are girl wore white and EVERYONE was ttalking about it. I was in the bathroom and I heard a group of girls talking about it.

I AGREE!!!- I know I was pissed when pictures came back and there were girls in white! I didn't notice it the day of, until of course many people made comments!! So it most likely will be talked about after the wedding!

Oh well...I'm on my own on this one...I wouldn't care what color you wore to my wedding...you could come naked if you wanted...lol...
I'm pretty sure everyone will know I am the bride...even if you wore white....

No way! No guests should be wearing white to a wedding. It takes away from the bride. I've seen girls do it before and it definitely has been viewed negatively.
I'd be bothered by it if someone wore white to my wedding. Use this as an excuse to buy yourself a cute new dress.

I wouldn't wear it. I know I wouldn't want anyone wearing white at my wedding, so this bride might feel the same way. I would play it safe and pick another dress to wear.

Hmmm! Peg the dress sounds so cute and I know you prob. really want to wear it but I think you should play it on the safe side. I know that I wouldnt want to be 'the girl' that everyone looks at and whispers...'is she really wearing white'. Even though I'm sure it's really pretty- you don't want to deal with that .

From what I've heard only the bride should be in white. SOunds like a nice dress but I would save it for another occasion.

I one time wore a pale yellow dress to a wedding and to this day whenever i look at pictures I cringe b/c it looked more ivory in the lighting. I didnt think about it then but now I wonder if people were bad mouthing me behind my back
I would have to say play it safe and opt for a diff dress. Not worth the drama.

I would have to say no to wearing it. Some brides may not mind and some might really get upset by it. Better to play it safe and wear a different color.

Honestly.. I would not like it if anyone else wore white to my wedding.. Unless it was like black and white print then that would be ok.. but I dont think its right to wear white.. Just my thoughts!
