Need Opinions! favors as placecards or tablecards? w/ poll

To add to my confusion, I learned some new definitions from: Farfalla Wedding definitions

Tablecards instruct your guests to be seated at a specific table. Once they find their table they can select any seat they prefer.

Placecards instruct your guests to be seated in a specific seat AT a specific table. Placecards are typically paired with a seating chart or other means for guests to narrow in on their table. Once they arrive at their table, they will look for their placecard and sit in their pre-selected seat.

We are getting married in a vineyard, so I thought a cute favor would be:

I am using this as the wine glass at the reception.

I thought to use as tablecards and have them set up on a table for guests to grab and bring to their table. But that would be messy I think?

Or I can have them set at the table as 'placecards'?

Any ideas on notes or poems attached so guests know they can keep them. Most of my guests are family so I know they will want to keep them with our names on them.

Thank you!

i like letting guests choose where they sit at their table. also, how will they know which table to go to? will they need to check them all?

I would to do table cards so people can choose their own seat at their assigned table. You will already go crazy with the table chart so I would leave the specific seating arrangements up to the guests!

I would just do table cards. Place cards might add confusion and its double the work for you.

I agree. Table cards are a better option because guests can sit next to whoever they want....if it were me, I would want to choose who I was sitting next to.

TABLE CARDS!!! No one wans to be assigned to a specific seat. Just let them come and sit next to their friend who they want to talk to or hang with. Assigning seats requires even more work and people will try to switch and confusion will erupt.

Make it simple on everyone.... table cards. JMO

i would just do tble cards and let guests decide who they want to sit with. it'll get more stressful for you if you have to decide who sits where on each table and i love the wine glasses, think its a very cute and fitting idea

I am not assigning seats, just table. I love the wine glass favor. Very Cute!

I wouldn't have everyone sit in assigned seats...but if you think it'll get too messy having them carry them around to their table, then place them on the tables, and just have a note framed explaining that they are free to sit where they want at that table. They are a cute idea :)

Table cards, you want people to know where they're seating, but you don't want to be too controlling and force them to sit places, especially if it turns out they don't like that person or they would rather talk to the person across the table, etc.
