We're going to use Bill Levkoff #966 in Satin (thanks everyone who said that satin WAS okay for July!)

Now, here's the question...
What color should the sash be?

Here's the dress (in the sample color... NOT the color we're going to use).

We're going to use a pale pink for the main color of the dress, and I'm unsure of what color to make the sash.

I like the idea of white, to match my wedding dress (Justina McCaffrey dress in diamond white).

I also like the idea of black, to match the guy's tuxes.

Someone had suggested to just keep the dress one color, so make the sash the same pink... but I feel like this takes away from the fun of the dress!

I'd love to hear if you have any other suggestions. Please keep in mind that my flowers are going to be very pale pinks and whites (no dark pink!)

Here is a picture of a different dress (WE ARE NOT USING THIS DRESS), just so you can see how the combination of pink and black look together. [Don't mind the face... or lack thereof! I just don't want to put my BMs face on here without telling her!]

or maybe pink and brown?

I like the black idea out of your choices though

Pink and black is very elegant.

im using the same dress as my BM dress...what about the champagne color for the sash...i agree that using the same color sash takes away from the dress...i don't know if the black would be a little harsh tho...to me, i think the contrast would draw attention away from u as the bride since it's such a contrast. The colors do look great together...but thats just my opinion. I felt the champagne was safe bc I was afraid that if the white didn't match the white of my dress, it wouldn't look like we were TRYING to match...the champagne is still light enough to use white flowers...but far enough from white to not LOOK like ure trying to match ure dress just in case...then again...im insane!! either way would look great!

I like the idea of the pink dress with a black sash.

Lets see if these pictures work! Its not the same dress, but it is the same designer ...

Me I really do not like the black one it is too big if it was alittle smaller maybe then i would like that.

any comments on the length??? its a day wedding bride, mob, and fmil are all wearing long.. our concern is the sash for the shorter dress will it look like eeyores tail swinging as we dance haha

I voted for white...I think it's more summery and more elegant than pink and black combo...JMO of course

someone above mentioned the champagne idea.. i like that better than the black.. it'll blend better... its too strong of a color esp. since its in the waist area and down the back of the dress and its a thick sash...
it may take away from you because its such a contrast...
or go with the lite pink...
its the summer, a day wedding on the beach.. think light is the way to go... and long dresses...

i would do the sash in a different color. are you having any other colors in their boks? like a green or brighter pink? that may look nice as an accent to tie it all in

If you went with a lighter sash (I think champagne would look great) then I like the idea of tea length, but you would have to shorten the sash so that it was shorter than the dress to avoid the whole 'tail' effect. But, if you are sticking with the black, then I would keep it long.
