Ok, I'm having invitation issues......I am IN LOVE with an invitation made by Elite- but its sooooo expensive......I also found one by Birchcraft which is less than half of the price. They both have the element that I wanted which was bronze cardstock....I just love the color!!!
The Elite invitation is around $1,000 for 150 invites (including everything- response card set, lined inner envelopes, reception cards etc.). This is a 3 layered invitation.
The Birchcraft is around $420 for 150 of them!!! BTW- I would NOT include the ivory bow on the bronze 'band' on these- instead I would use a scrolly motif symbol thingy probably in a gold font.....I think it would look nicer.
So which do you like better? And if you like the Elite better would you spend the extra $600 on them?? Am I crazy for really wanting to splurge here?? that's how much I love them!!

In my opinion - I feel that invitations are going to mostly get thrown away anyway, so I didn't want to spend the extra money for invitations. However, I do like the Elite ones better, but I think the for price they are a little too much. I would go with the Birchcraft ones - they are very nice too!

ETS: i think what i dont love about the birchcraft is that the two white areas are separated. for example on the elite i think it looks much better to have the names just on the cardstock and not on the white background. i dont know if that made sense the way i explained?

I gotcha.....yeah I definitely like the layout of the Elite invites better too....I like that the names are in a different colored font than the actual invite. Maybe I should just keep looking at other invitations with bronze cardstock?? I'm getting tired of looking, I feel like so many of them are expensive!!

don't make yourself crazy though, you know you have a nice much cheaper option with the birchcraft!

i like the first better but wouldnt pay that much...so if i was you, id keep looking for similar styles. or get the second. its hard for me to tell if i like the second bc i cant get past the big bow.

Helen: I have to tell you the truth, the one for 1000 bucks in my opinion so not worth the money. You could use that for something else. Like someone said on her those invites will be in the garbage. I know because I through all mine out of weddings I have been to after awhile. I have only been keeping some lately to get ideas since Im getting married other than that I usually don't keep them.
Go for what you like and the ones that will save you some money.

Hey Chicka!!! Wow! the birchcraft are actually really pretty! The colors are just right too .....However, I still like the elite better They are so elegant, and I love the shine of the base bronze. I like how the layering is spaced. You would def need to put something in the place of the bow if you go with the birchcraft.
Honestly, I do think that for the price the BC are pretty, but the elite are Gorgeous!
ETA: if it were my choice, I would go with elite just because I love them and how I felt when I first saw them. Yes they may be thrown out, but the one in your scrap book will stay with you forever :)

They both are nice Elite invitations are more elegant. But I would go for the other ones because they are very beautiful also and cheaper.

I love them both, but most people just throw them away. I would save the extra money and use it towards tipping the vendors.

I like the first one more but don't understand why it costs so much ?? I think the 2nd one is a great inexpensive substitute so I'd vote for #2 or finding something else.
I've been trying to work on the philosophy of 'If my (invitations, shoes, etc) cost too much and are out of my budget then they're not the right (invitations, shoes, etc) for me !!

I don't like the Elite very much--certainly don't see why it's worth $1000! Is it letterpressed, is that it? If I were you, I'd look around a little more. Is it that you really wanted bronze cardstock? Did you look at some of the online sellers like My Gatsby or Divine Ink that have lots of cardstocks? Most will also design the invitation for you, and it looks like you want something very classic and clean anyway, which should be easy to arrange.

Well i do like the Elite one better.. it clearly looks like what it costs. But I think the Birchcraft is a nice way to get what you want for less money. I really wanted Crane Invites which probably would have ran me like $2k when all was said & done.. but instead I went the cheaper route and am only paying about $650 or so. Just remember, they will get thrown out!
