I have been having trouble lately finding a wedding band that I like that will go with my e-ring. I stopped by the jewler where FH got my e-ring this weekend and they are going to custom make a band to fit with my ring. In order for them to get an idea and make a sample for me I have to leave my ring there for a day or two.
Would you leave your ring with the jewler? I trust them, I know they will not do anything to the ring or change the stones or anything. They are very reputable etc but I am still skeptical about leaving my ring there. I have left it with them before when i was getting it fixed once but that was a few hours, this would be a few days.

If you trust them then don't worry about it. As long as they are reputable and you and your FH trusts them!!!!!

If you trust them then I guess its ok... I honestly would have a very hard time doing that though.

I would do it if you trusted them...also make sure to get something in writing... I would feel a bit bare without it, but if it'll be to have a custom ring, then I think it may be worth it...

If you trust them then I wouldn't stress it. FH brothers wife had to do the same thing when she bought her band because it was custom, she kept thinking she lost it

Ohhh I know how you feel- you have a trusted jeweler and you're scared to leave it there for a few days- I am the same way. I'd be naked without my ring for one and I would keep thinking that they'd switch my diamond or something. LOL. (Even though I know MINE wouldn't do it. it's still in the back of my mind) Seriously though- don't worry- if you want your custom band, you have to have a mold made of your e-ring so it means you're without it for a few days- just slip on a fake e-ring for 2 days and it'll pass quickly.

IMO...I wouldn't leave my ring. I mean, I get nervous at Fortunoffs when they take it to the back to polish it, lol! SO leaving it for a few days, 1 day, or a couple of hours would not work for me.
Trustworthy or not...you never know these days.

I had to have my wedding band custom made also and needed to leave my e-ring with the jeweler while they made the mold, which was 3 days, he took my center stone out and I held onto it while he had the ring and then when he was done making the mold he put my stone back in for me. Don't worry about it, if they're reputable and your ring is from there and you trust them it will all be fine. I actually get to pick up my band on Wednesday and I'm soooo excited to see how it came out :)

I worry way too much, so I wouldnt leave it. But when you say you trust them, are they like family friends.... people you have gone to for years? Then, in those cases ... I might... but honestly, I dont trust ANy jeweler lol

I would not leave my ring...I am having a custom made wedding band and I have met with the designer and the person who created the wax model- I have been able to work with them and my ring has NEVER left my sight. Each jeweler is different and you have to do what you are comfortable with.

honestly, that is my plan too... i am going to have the same person who custom made my e-ring to make the band to match... if he needs it for a few days, it's insured so i would be ok with it...

Nope dont care would never leave my ring with any jeweler. Ask them to remove the diamond (center stone) and bringit home if they need to hav ethe ring. I would never leave my stone.

i understand where you are coming from. i had to leave my ring for a week when i damanged one of the prongs a few years ago. i think since it is the jewler where you got the ring it will be ok. your finger will feel naked though. i wore my claddagh ring FH bought me before we were engaged while it was being fixed.

honestly i dont think you have anything to worry about if that is where your FH got the ring from and you are leaving it there with the same person who made your ring. we are getting my wedding band costume made to match my e-ring also and it is going to be made by the same person who made my e-ring and he told us we will have to leave the ring there for 2 days for him to make the matching band and honestly i dont feel nervous about it cause i have met him already and he is someone we trust and we know he wont do anything to it and do us wrong. plus he is the one who made the e-ring and who we bought it from so! we have the ring apraised already and insured and all so im not worried and i know nothing will happen to it, and actually we even had to leave my ring there for an entire day already because the main diamond on it was a bit loose and he had to fix the prong of it and make it tighter.. so really i wouldnt worry too much about it and you should be fine if you are leaving it at the same place your FH bought the e-ring from, just make sure everything is in writing and make sure your ring is insured of course before you do this too! =]
