Ok, so I just got Bride magazine and in one of the quizzes it says that putting a link to your gift registry on your wedding website is tacky...
Do you think its tacky?

That's what I thought! I also GOT the wedding website so we could put it out there for our guests' convenience!

Re: Need opinions re: etiquette
Was it elegant bride by any chance?
I love that magazine b/c they have a lot of great stuff in it, but i find that when they ask 'Is it tacky to.....?' The majority of people respond with YES, even if everyone on this website or other boards i'm on say NO. It's odd.
Honestly, I think most people have wedding website just to put the registry info on it! I don't think it's tacky at all. Everything I've read other than Elegant Bride said that it's the 'right thing' to do.

No- not tacky- nowadays ppl expect that there will be a registry and want to know about it. It makes it so much easier to buy a gift.
I say do it!

Most people who will be looking at your wedding site will be attending either your shower or wedding and I'm sure they would just find it helpful....

I don't think it's tacky! It is tacky if you put the registries on the invitation or save the date though.

Re: Need opinions re: etiquette
not at all...I did it. I think this is the one loophole that ISN'T tacky as opposed to putting those enclosures registry barcodes in invites or having it on the invitation. instead put the web address on the invite and they can figure it out from there. it's common practice nowadays and most people appreciate not having to call around and ask.

NOPE - i can understand putting it in the wedding invitations as being tacky but to me a website is to promote/give information therefore it is doing its job but putting out your information.

i dont think its tackiy - what are you supposed to do - register for gifts - but not tell anyone where. Its to make it easy for the people who want to buy you a gift .
