Need Opinions-- sorry- long!

Need Opinions-- sorry- long!

SO- Fh has a ton of family in Ireland that they see every few years or so. The irish family (who are all aunts and 1st cousins) has been talking for years about FH & FBIL getting married so that they can come to the states. WELL- when we first started wedding planning we all decided- fil's included, that we would not be inviting the family from ireland for a few reasons:

1- there are just SO many of them! It would be next to impossible to draw the line as to who to invite- and if they all come we will be SO FAR over budget that I will probably have to whore myself out to pay for it!!

2- If they DO come, they're going to expect to stay with family- they would never think of staying in a hotel. That means that my FIL's will have a full house the week of the wedding!

Anyhow- FH's great uncle passed away last week and fmil called to talk to everyone and SOMEHOW they all know about the wedding and are all talking about how they are planning a trip here!!!!

What do I do?! We just cannot afford that many more people!! But at the same time- how do I not invite them?(when FH and FILs go to ireland it is usually for a wedding) I dont know what to do!!

Any one have any words of wisdom?

Between this and the honeymoon drama and the whole budget thing... I'm beginning to think we should have eloped. (maybe we still should!)

Invite them... You can put a restriction on ages, not on geographic location.. It wouldn't be fair.

You can always pimp yourself.

I see what you're saying-- I guess we sort of consider them 'extended' family- so it was ok that they're not on our list.

But alas-- it seems I have no choice!
