Need opinons re: ordering invites VERY early because of sale?

HI everyone --
I am having a real dilemma and would love some of my fellow brides' opinions.
I am in love with a Checkerboard invite that is currently 10% off at FineStationery.com.
Now my only problem is my wedding is not until May 2010!!
So I know normally I would never order the invite so early but after making a few phone calls, they have no idea how much longer they will even HAVE this invite! And this is coming from the finestationery.com site as well as the printer itself, Checkerboard.
I've looked around for months now and I cannot find any invites that I love as much as this one and it's also at a price point I am comfortable with. I am seriously in love with it!!!
So is it totally insane to buy my invites this early? The sale runs until March, so I'd definitely wait til then at the very least, but it's still SUPER early.
The woman said the ink/printing itself will be fine, but I don't know what to do!! The savings are rather considerable when they are all added up, about $100 + because even the envelope lining is on sale.

IMO 10% seems to be the standard 'discount' when ordering on line. . . seems like there is almost always 10 off sale so I might just wait. . you never know what will happen in terms of time/ location etc. . . and often you can find the same invite in many places but if you will be really upset if you don't get that exact one I'd do it!

On a side note, Checkerboard Invites was great to work with, I got my e-party invites from them, they came so fast!!
I also agree....10% is not a lot for a discount, most places offer this and if by chance you can't find this invite down the road, you can have someone design it. So maybe just order a sample of it so when the time comes you have it to show people.

this is a tough one because I see both sides to the issue...I would wait because of times and such and also if something bad happens to them. Then again..if you adore them...ugh I am NO help...do what is in your gut

i DEF agree with the others on here....dont get them, its still way too early...ill share my story:
i am DIYing invites, and was at target one day and saw the most beautiful invites EVER, and they were 6.99 for a box of 25...this was march 08 for our august 09 wedding....so i bought them..flash forward to January 09, everyone on LIW was looking at invites and it made me sad and i wanted to look again....to make a long story short, i now have 10 boxes of invites at my house!
things DEF change, even if you swear they wont

Did you set all of your church, RH stuff? If that's all set, I don't see any reason why it should be a problem to order them early. If there's still any doubt though, I would hold off. Another deal will come along!

I would wait unless you are a million percent sure they are the ones you love.
I have been really indecisive about invites and have gone from one end of the spectrum to the other on the style (in about a month -- FH wants to kill me ) If I'd committed to the vendor I initially thought I'd want, I know I'd be really unhappy in the end.

also another thing to add, i was DEAD det on my theme also... wanted something very beachy and informal from the very beginning... my vision totally changed after posting a sample on here and hearing what others had to say... while i still have my theme, i ended up making an invite that was a bit more plain, thus looking more formal... so little changes like that can happen that you wouldnt expect in a yr from now... and yes, when your year starts posting all of their invites, i bet you at least 1 point in the process you will go , 'damnnn, i shouldas done something like that instead' please please hold off... i dont think you;d regret that decision

Like the other girls have been saying, you have plenty of time to make that decision. I love my invites, but a part of me wishes I would have waited until now to order them because I didn't know who Tessa was until I started becoming a major LIW girl.
Can you post the design on here?

im planning on getting everything done as soon as possible.... thats the kind of person i am....
as for the invites, i you love them get them... i currently shopping around and my wedding is way after yours! i understand that some change their minds and tastes but if youre like me and are very decisive and you found a good deal than go for it!
the only thing that i would be hesitant about is if your ceremony or ch times change for any reason, other than that i dont see a problem

ive managed to find an even better vendor & better price thanks to kristina2009!!
i am really in love with them and i know im going to be kicking myself if i cant get them down the road.
if the worst happens & i have to reorder, so be it. i'll have to deal with the decision i made.
