My MOH's cousin drowned in Hewlett...it is all over the papers...her whole family is devistated, and CPS took her younger cousin away (this is a crappy situation)...poor thing is having a really hard time...prayers please!!! Especially for her little cousin who drowned and the sibilings of the little girl...what a horrible thing!

To make matters worse, the newspapers keep misquoting the family, who is devistated. However, they put the baby with family, instead of foster care...this pisses me off, because i am an attorney for children in family court, and I had a case where a boy drowned in a pool because his father was too busy shooting heroin and CPS refused to even ask for an order against that dad!
My heart goes out to your MOH and her family during this difficult time

Oh wow, I read that story and it was horrible. Instead of letting a family grieve in peace everyone is focused on how the pool wasn't built with the right inspection codes. Considering I wouldn't know an inspection code if it hit me in the face, I can totally understand how the family made a mistake that turned tragic.
I remember when I was in high school a friend of mine was killed in a car crash days before graduation. Newsday and Channel 12 showed up outside the funeral home and shoved microphones and pads of paper in kids' faces, asking 'how do you feel today?' How do you think we felt? Geez. The press needs to leave them alone! I'm so sorry for your MOH's family's loss and I hope she's doing ok.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and prayers...it is sad that instead of letting my MOH's family grieve in peace, the paper is making them out to be a bunch of monsters...this is making it that much harder for them! The wake is tomorrow, and she is very heartbroken

I will say prayers and wish the best for your MOH. A close friend of mine and her family are also going through a horrific ordeal that is also all over the news and in the papers and their side of the story is totally misrepresented. It is just awful and heartbreaking.

Her cousin's name is Chloe (this is the little girl who died)...the newest update is that her cousin Meadow, who is one, was removed from foster care to a family member
