Do you need an ORIGINAL birth certificate when getting a marriage liscense? Ordering one for my passport and I might as well order two if I need it!

Yes they have to be all original documents with a seal.

you have to send in your birth certificate when you apply for your passport. so you might as well get another one just in case time is cutting it short and your passport isnt ready when you go to apply for your license. i dont think that will happen though.

I went to the post office to get my passport, and they did NOT keep my original birth certificate, they only looked at, and made a copy. I don't think you need to order two, unless you are mailing away for your passport.

I hope so!! The only birth certificate I have is the original from when I was born 31 years ago!! How it's still together is beyond me!!!

really? i got my passport 6 years ago and they took my original birth certificate. i was a bit nervous and it was mailed back with my passport. maybe they have changed since then.
