Need Recs for Reception Halls!

Need Recs for Reception Halls!

Well I know of a few, but I really want to hear other people's recs, and also opinions of the following places if anyone can offer. (I'm basically looking for a place that has room for a minimum of 100 people that is not extremely small and am lookng to spend no more than $87/pp including tax and gratuity for a Friday night):

-Stewart Manor Country Club in Garden City - I think it's very nice but for $62/pp (not including tax and gratuity), I don't think hors d'oevres(sp?), a few cold foods, five hot stations and one meat carving is a lot for cocktail when other places offer at least 8 hot stations, 8 cold stations, 1 or 2 pasta stations and 1 or 2 meat carving stations. It's nice to give people more choices.

-Coral House - I would be in the Nantucket room which is one of the smaller rooms, and I'm concerned about noise if there's a wedding in any of the bigger rooms and whatnot. Opinions on this place?

-Leonard's - How is the pricing?

-Chateau Briand - Pricing?

-Manor East - Have read good things about this place, but what is the minimum of people needed for the Tiffany Ballroom? The cocktail room and smaller dinner room look way too purple to me, or is that just how it looks on the website?

-George Washington Manor - General opinions?

Thanks!

manor east i have the tiffany room, i had to guarantee 100 minimum, and on a 'november saterday night' got the chantilly menue for $75 including tax/tip..

at leonards, the room that fit 100 people was $80+taxtip...I liked leonards but fiance thought the room they would give us was too small...

at coral house i think the nantucket room was $68+taxtip, and the colonial room(smaller one) was like $60+taxtip.. jennbaby had her reception there and loved it

try 15th and West, which is inside the Nassau County Bar Association in Garden City/Mineola. It's a well-kept secret!

Thanks, I'll look into those recs!

I liked Swan Club, but I liked the Camelot room so much. I thought the Contessa was a little small, and that would have been the one I would get.

I had my reception at the Coral House, in the Americana Room, I was very happy and my guests said all was excellent. I was treated VERY well also!

Nrvbrd, I can't wait to hear how it went for you since you'd be getting it in the same room as I would. I loooved the Americana room, but I can't guarantee the minimum.

I think Sunset Harbour is too far because I live in Queens, and a lot of family and friends live in Queens.

I liked GW Manor, but I thought the bridal suite was really small, but maybe I will look into that again. The room was beautiful.

I am having my reception at the Manor East. It is a great place with great service and food. If you have any questions, just ask.

I'm really wondering about Coral House. It's a reasonable price, and they include a lot, but the good and bad reviews are really throwing me off.
