Need Recs for Reception Halls!

Original post by violet

Well I know of a few, but I really want to hear other people's recs, and also opinions of the following places if anyone can offer. (I'm basically looking for a place that has room for a minimum of 100 people that is not extremely small and am lookng to spend no more than $87/pp including tax and gratuity for a Friday night):

-Stewart Manor Country Club in Garden City - I think it's very nice but for $62/pp (not including tax and gratuity), I don't think hors d'oevres(sp?), a few cold foods, five hot stations and one meat carving is a lot for cocktail when other places offer at least 8 hot stations, 8 cold stations, 1 or 2 pasta stations and 1 or 2 meat carving stations. It's nice to give people more choices.

-Coral House - I would be in the Nantucket room which is one of the smaller rooms, and I'm concerned about noise if there's a wedding in any of the bigger rooms and whatnot. Opinions on this place?

-Leonard's - How is the pricing?

-Chateau Briand - Pricing?

-Manor East - Have read good things about this place, but what is the minimum of people needed for the Tiffany Ballroom? The cocktail room and smaller dinner room look way too purple to me, or is that just how it looks on the website?

-George Washington Manor - General opinions?

Thanks!

I am getting married at the Inn at East Wind for around that price on a Saturday Afternoon in November. I am working with Michelle Ryan, and if you explain your situation I am sure they will work with you on everything you need and want.

My reception was at the Westbury Manor. We had 90 people (our minimum was 100) and there was plenty of room. We had the garden room and the library. The food and service was unbelievable! We got married on Friday night in May and the rate was in your price range.

We had ours at the Brentwood Country Club and it was wonderful. They have package deals where flowers, music, video, etc are all included for a really great price. But, you can opt out of vendors there if you want and they will credit you for that. We ended up using a different photographer and they gave us a credit.
They have a minimum of 100 (i'm pretty sure) for a Friday night wedding. They say the place holds 225 though we had only 145 +/- and I thought that although the table spacing was more than ample, the dance floor could have been a little bigger. But for 100 or so - or if you don't have everyone dancing at once, it's plenty big.
Everyone said how wonderful everything was - tons of food and it was delicious (I actually did eat at my wedding)

Good luck

How about the Milleridge Cottage...I believe same owners as the George Washington Manor.

I went to Milleridge Inn, and I liked the Cottage, but that is a 200 minimum. I didn't like the Carriage House b/c I didn't like that if it was bad weather outside, you had your cocktail hour at your dinner table.

Is there a webpage for Brentwood Country Club?

Does anyone know anything about Larkfield Manor?
