We're looking to go out to a nice restaurant Sat. night in the Nassau area. Somewhere quite with nice ambiance. Any suggestions for last minute plans? Just no seafood, Fh got food poisoning from clams a few weeks ago.

Well, I'll tell you a few of my favorites. La Viola in Syosset is a nice quiet, Italian, family-style resturant. The prices aren't too bad. One of my ultimate favorites is Cheescake Factory in Westbury on Old Country Rd. The cheescake is to die for, but the place can be a little noisy. A really nice fancy place is Ruth Chris's steak house which is located near the Roosevelt Field Mall, however the dinner would be on the pricy side.

Peppercorns in Hicksville. The food is great and it's reasonably quiet and romantical.

My opinion is a little biased, but have you been to the Oak Room at Bethpage State Park? The food is fantastic and it's quiet and elegant.

Jimmy Hayes Steak House on Austin Blvd in Island Park. George Martin Steak house in Rockville Centre. EXCELLENT!
