Need Sash help...with poll!!!
Hi girls...
I need some sash help/advice/opinions please....
My wedding dress is ivory with a champagne colored sash. I am going to attach a picture of it but the sash in the picture is a shade or 2 darker than the sash I will have...mine is much lighter in color...champagne/taupe-ish color.
We just ordered my MOH and BM's dresses...I have 1 MOH and 3 BM's. We got the dresses from Ann Taylor online in their wonderful Celebrations section. I am more into the casual look for my bridal party - I am just not into the dresses that look very bridesmaidy - I'd like for them to possibly be able to wear them again (everyone says that and then never do). I am just a more casual person - wedding is not black tie or anything so my BM's dresses are not all that dressy looking but I love them! They will be wearing chocolate brown strapless dresses. MOH will be in a long floor length dress...3 BM's will be in a tea length. I wanted my MOH to stand out and be a little different. So the girls tried on the dresses and they all love them...love the material and the way they fit. The 3 BM's just feel that since their dress is tea length - that it is too casual for a BM and that anyone could show up in a dress just like this. Which is true - but they will all have their hair done and I am giving them all a pearl necklace and earrings to wear the day of so they all match so they will stand out and will definitely look like my BM's. So Ann Taylor sells sashes to go with these dresses. They all want to wear a sash - think it will dress up the look a little more. I was thinking that was fine but they should just wear a chocolate brown sash...so it would be brown on brown as to not clash with my sash. They think it's silly to do brown on brown...like what's the point in even wearing a sash then. So they want to all wear the same colored sash that I am wearing. I'm fine with that....I just don't know if it will be sash overkill or something??? Too much sash going on? I don't know. I can't make the call - I'm having a hard time deciding. Got my gown at Kleinfelds so I can easily order the same exact color sash for all of them so they match mine exactly. I just don't know how it will look....me in an ivory gown with champagne sash...and them all in choc. brown dresses with champagne sash....too much??? Please give me your honest opinions!!! Thanks so much!!!
OH and I do have 2 flower girls as well....I was going to put them in choc brown sashes to match the BM dresses before I knew they'd be wearing a sash. If the BM's go with champ. sash then obv. I'd put the flower girls in champagne sash too....
OK I'm going to attach my dress first...then the flower girl dress....then the 2 dresses from Ann Taylor - long is MOH and short is for 3 BM's.
THANKS girls!!!
