Need some advice.......

Need some advice.......

I know that my BP has starting planning my shower. My mother is very sick with cancer and is not in the financial position to help with the party either. My BP consists of 4 of my cousins, a friend and FH's Aunt. They understand my mothers situation, but they have not included her in on anything. I want to say something to them, but I am not sure how. Even though my mom can't contribute monetarily she can help them plan, do the favors invites or something. I just feel bad that she is not included. I also, have to say they my cousins have not included my friend or my FH's aunt. What would you do? Am I wrong for feeling this way?

Just ask them if they could keep your mom informed of what they are doing and tell them that she needs to be included with something, just keep reminding them by saying, did you show this to my mom or my mom could do that for you. I think they should understand and it is not wrong for you to want your mom involved. Good Luck!!

I think you should talk with the Aunt of one of the BM's and let them know your concerns. They probably think that since your mom is so ill, that they don't want to burden her with anything at all. This is probably just a lack of communication sort of thing, and they don't realize they are leaving her out of her daughter's shower.

Just let them know that you would like them to just try and include her in some way---so she doesn't feel left out. I'm sure they will be able to think of something.

Georgia,

Talk with Rita Marie - she's the one who seems to take charge. Maybe they just don't know that while your mom is sick, she can still help in the planning and doing invites, or favors.

I was going to say talk to your friend...but she's not included either, huh? Honestly, I would just approach the cousin you are most comfortable with...maybe if one is the MOH approach that one...and explain how you feel. Even if you just casually mention 'how great it is that your mom can be included and that it means so much to her' maybe they'll get the hint.

I would talk to your MOH or the person in your BP that you feel that would really understand where you are coming from. I would make it very clear to them (but it a sincere way) how much it would mean to you and your mother for your mother to be involved. I think it's completly OK for you to mention something. I had a similar situation (a bit different though) and I was able to just talk to my MOH, be honest with how I felt, and she was completly receptive and everything has worked out fine.

Good Luck!

I might be jumping the gun though. They really have just started the whole planning process. Thanks for the advice. I think I am going to call my MOH tonight and talk to her about how I am feeling.
