So we found a wonderful Harpist that we want to go with. She is very reasonable and she is wonderful. Her music is great and she is lovely and professional. We are basing all of these opinions on her websites. We have never actually met her. We want to sign with her and send the deposit but my family keeps saying we should really meet her in person first. The only glitch with that is we live in MD and she lives in NYC and she is also involved in a lot of Symphony Concerts in Manhattan and has a very busy schedule. Should we hold off on signing and meet with her? I am worried we will loose our date? HELP!

Re: Need some advice!
I honestly would not book with someone without meeting with them. Especially with music, I would not only need to meet with her but actually hear her play. I understand it is hard for you, is there any way you can squeeze in a meeting with her while you are doing other wedding things here?

yes she has many samples on her website and she sent us a CD. She is a Grad student at NYU in their music department. I truly think she is phenomenal!

have you been able to read any reviews on her? I would search to see if anyone has used her before.

Re: Need some advice!
yea, my advice would be to also hold off until you meet her. if you are worried about losing your date with her I would express that concern to her and see if she is willing to help you out and find a common time and place for you both to meet.
Good Luck!

If you really cannot meet her, I would at least ask for a few references that you can call of weddings she has done in the past. Then you can find out directly from the brides what they thought of her.
Also, do you have any family members in NY that you trust to meet with her and give you an honest opinion of how she plays? Maybe they could even video tape her palying for you....

DON'T ever book with someone until you meet them and see/hear the product. I have heard great reviews about some companies of thier website but then they are horrible. Do you have a family member/ friend that can go check it out?
