I hated the patch, the pill is much better IMHO. I mean the patch worked fine and I had no side effects but at the site where the patch was, after I took it off, it was nasty, like a bandaid had been there for like a week

It also did not stick to my skin well.....all in all, the pill was much easier for me.....

I actually replied to you on that thread -but I guess you didn't get to read it-

I was on the patch for 2 months and hated it!
It made my boobs bigger (good) but they were sore all the time (bad). It was also very itchy and irritating. The sides started to look all nasty like a dirty bandaid after a couple of days. When I took it off after a week, I had a huge red spot there that lasted for days. I have very sensitive skin, so that might have been why I had such a bad experience. I have a friend who is on it and she loves it!

I've been on it for over a year now and have had no problems. I didn't react well to the pill even after being on it for almost 14 yrs! Still made me nausous and spotted a lot. I do get that glue leftover on my skin after I take one off but it comes right off with a little baby oil on a cotton ball. Another reason why I like it is because I am very forgetfull and forgot at least one pill a week! So, it really depends on you. Your doctor will probably know what is best for you and your body. Good luck!

DO NOT USE IT
I had a HORRIBLE reaction to it, and had I not taken it off, I would probably have died from a blood clot. Remember the girl who collapsed (she literally dropped dead) in the subways a few years ago? This was from her reaction to the patch!
I started using the patch on on July 5, 2003. The next day was my best friend's wedding and everything was fine. On July 7, my entire right leg was in a lot of pain - achy and sore, like I had been working out at the gym all day. On July 8, my entire right arm (in addition to my leg) went completely numb. At this point I was completely freaked out, and called my doctor (who didn't return a single phone call), then proceeded to look online for side effects of the patch. I read that what was happening to me was a very rare, but VERY dangerous side effect. I immediately took the patch off, and less than 2 hours later my leg and arm returned to normal. When my doctor (ex doctor, now!) finally got back to me she said that if I hadn't removed it, I could very well have died.
I do NOT recommend the patch AT ALL!

HTH....

I have been on it for over 3 years and have had no problems. It does get itchy sometimes, but I am terrible at remembering to take the pill everyday, so I don't mind the slight itch. I have very sensitive skin, and it only irritates me occasionally. It does look like a band-aid, but FI and I don't mind. I recommend the patch if you have trouble remembering to take your pill. Other than the itch I have had no side efects that are any different than the pill.

I guess it depends than on the person... so since the cases seem to differ. Maybe I should just use the Pill for now and wont try nothing knmew so close to my wedding. I just hated the pill, it made me nauseous all the time.

Theres plenty of diff choices out there right now
from pills, shots, patchs, rings, etc

Just a quick word on the patch.. my cousin used it religiously and still ended up with 2 kids while on it.. .

Talk to your doc see what he/she feels is a good route.. theres are so many diff. versions of the pill now with different horomone combos ur bound to find a good one for your body!

I personally can't take a pill for BC b/c it caused some sort of liver drama .. I take the shot and most people will not take the shot ... so to each his own!

My doc ended up givng me a Low doage of the pill, apparently she says shes has been dahving too many problems with the patch and doesnt prescribe em anymore - so much for that idea.

Which pill did she wind up giving you, if you don't mind me asking... I really want to switch mine.

I broke out ofrom the adhesive. My friend's doctor just took her off, there is a higher chance of blood clots with the patch.

I used the patch-more convenient but a pain. Wherever I put it-arm, leg, back, belly, I got a horrible red rash under the patch-I just had a bad reaction to it It hurt!
