so with the wedding planning and fh is moving away and everything else ..im sooo broke..im looking for a second job...its hard to find smth good when u already work full time and the other job needs u earlier... i guess many of us are in the same situation... ...i guess my question to you is how do you save ur money!!!?? i need some ideas!!!

I am trying to save more too so we have stopped going out to eat as much, we stick to our food shopping list, I have not bought clothing in a while (YUCK!), and I have been leaving my credit cards at home...I am such an impulse shopper and the credit cards do not help....I have also found myself not even opening the catalogs that come to the house....I always seem to find something I want in them so I don't even open them anymore

is there anything you can cut back on or get rid of (like cable, cell phone plan options, etc.)? When I wanted to save money when I was younger I would designate every third month as a 'no-spend' month, so I was only allowed to spend on essentials like food and toothepaste and if I wanted to hang with friends it had to be at someone's house and not going out.

I just called time warner and threatened to switch to someone else - so they unbundled my services (cable, phone, and internet) and I am now saving $10 a month. I guess I was on some kind of package deal and it is cheaper to split them all up - maybe call and see what they offer you? I didn't have to drop or change anything.

This is great advice I was given once:
Start a Five Dollar Fund. Basically, anytime a 5 dollar bill comes into your posession, put it away in an envelope. I used to waitress, so this was really easy for me with tips. But even if you're not a waitress, if you break change and get a 5 back, put it away. It's small enough that it shouldn't make you really struggle day to day, and it adds up really fast. The Five Dollar Fund is definitely going to come in handy for us, whether we end up using it for tips or just as insurance to maybe upgrade on something we didn't think we'd be able to.

I am a psycho money planner. Ihave all of my checks for my student loan set up a year in advance in their envelopes with stamps. I give myself a monthly allowance and ONLY that is allowed to be spent. The rest i give to fh who puts it into our wedding account/ house account/ spending account. He's awesome with moola...

can you get rid of your landline and just keep your cell phone as your only phone? And you could leave the credit cards at home. - not that you use them but i did. and now i just pay everything with my debit card so if i dont have money in my checking then i dont go shopping

yea..credit card idea is nice!!!! i will leave at home...thats going to be very hard..!!!!
