Okay... my husband and I had an AMAZING time in Hawaii. Kauai first then Maui and we stayed at the Grand Hyatt for both. One problem though... When we were in Maui staying at the Hyatt Allstate was also there having their convention. It was pretty inconvenient b/c they closed the pool for 2 and a half days then some of the beach b/c they had a private concert. It was BON JOVI. LOL!!
Anyway, I think we should complain or something b/c the TA never knew about this and it was annoying for us. Although we did have an amazing time and didn't let it ruin the HM... it was still annoying.
Opinions please...

that is annoying - you should call your TA and mention is and see if there is anything they can do for you. the worst they can say is no!

I would say something. Even though you had a good time, it was still inconvenient I'm sure. You never know....

Yeah... I called her and she said we should write a letter. I have to figure how to start it and all.
I mean out of the 6 days we were there we couldn't use the pool for half the time and one day we couldn't use the beach. They also overbooked so there was hardly any chairs to lay out by the pool. My husband was keeping me sane at points b/c he hates confrontation, but I was ready to go to the front desk and he said we'll take care of it when we get home and let's enjoy the HM

I would write a letter -- Hyatt is very concerned with customer service so they should make it right. I would send a copy to the hotel manager and to corporate and see what happens.

Re: Need Some Advise (Honeymoon issue)
Write two letters, one to Hyatt Corporate and the other to the General Manager of the Hyatt you stayed in.
Be mature in your writing. State the dates you were staying at the hotel, the reason why (HM of course). Then state something to the effect that while the property is lovely, you could not enjoy it fully because the pool was closed.... and the beach was closed ..... Had you known in advance that these two separate occurrances would affect your complete enjoyment of the property, you would have booked elsewhere during your special vacation.
Don't get nasty, just stick with the facts. The worst thing that could happen is that Hyatt wil ignore your letter. The best thing is that they will offer you a complimentary stay at any one of their locations.
My FH tends to fly off the handle at things, while I try to be nice at first. As the old saying goes, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

I would say something. The worst than can happen is they don't do anything for you and you're no worse off than if you didn't at least ask.

I would mention it to the manager of the hotel and they should be able to compensate you with a few free nights somewhere.
