Need some help and prayers girls

Sorry in advance that this is way long. But thanks for those that bare with me.

Okay, so here's the story:

I dont know if you girls remember that I mentioned FH was having stomach pains and we took him to the hospital. It ended up not being appendicitis. So that was good news. He had a parasite. We got the bill yesterday and called the emergency medicaid number on the back of the bill. The lady who answered the phone said he doesnt qualify because you have to be a non citizen. Sorry but that pis ses me off!! I dont know if thats entirely true though because i know someone who got it. Does anyone have any info on that.

Additionally, Since he had a parasite, the doctor ordered him to stay out of work for a few more days. So in the end he was out of work for 2 weeks because of all this. HE called his boss to let him know when he would be able to return. The boss told him to take 2 extra days. So when Brian returns the day he told him to, the chef told him he never said that and since he was a no call no show for 2 days, he was fired... Our rationing is that the chef was pissed that he was out for 2 weeks, but since we had documentation as to why, he couldnt fire him, so he schemed on Brian.

So back to square one girls. He's been going on interviews for the past 2 weeks. He's in the process of getting his gaming license so he can work at Yonkers. If the license goes through he's getting the job there. But we dont want to get all excited because the way our luck is, that won't happen.

Does anyone know of any openings in a kitchen SOMEWHERE??? ANYWHERE???
Or of any job agencies that place those for restauraunts (kitchen work)?

Sorry this is long girls. This why I havent been on all that much like I used to. Just so much going on that I havent been very wedding happy!

That's just mean...the chef lying like that. You know what, something better will come along...with some time. Try and keep your chin up.

They lied to him at this office and caused him to get fired??? He should sue their asses!! He HAS medical bills stating that he was sick. They can't fire you over **** like that. ***??

Stuff like that annoys me. That is so unfair and uncalled for.

The only place I think of to look is the career builder - newsday editiion. Sorry I am not much of a help.

hugs to you and FH though! When one door closes another one opens. He will find a better job out there!!


That what I said at first. They couldn't fire him if he returned to work that monday because his dr notes said he could return that day. But since there is not documentation for those 2 extra days there's no ground to sue.. Trust me.. thats what I was first thinking of.

We've been on career builder, monster, hotjobs and craigslist everyday. But thanks!!


That *****!! Thats why these days, I here people telling me, if something happens to you make sure you document EVERYTHING because you never know what could happen and what morons are out there (chef)

I am so sorry for you and fh. Sometimes we just have a streak of bad luck. But just remember that there is always some good luck around the corner. Jusr hang in there and I am sure it will all work out. I will keep my eyes and ears open for jobs for your fh

I think depending on your income, you can apply for medicad. Do a google search you might be able to find something.


And being that he's out of a job.. he has no income!!

Thanks.. We really have never been off the streak of bad luck But i live by the motto that everything happens for a reason. I just wish the reasoning would happen already!!

Oh crap that right. Sorry. The only other thing I can think of, if FH goes to college or university, some school provide medical. you have to pay for it but at least he's covered if something happen.

He just graduated from culinary school and they didnt provide anything

ok the emergency medicaid thing is not true...FHs friend had an accident and needed surgery right away. He owns his own business so had no insurance. They told him to get the emergency medicaid and he was born here.


I really hope your FH finds a new job soon, sorry this had to happen. Sometimes things work in funny ways and maybe he will get a much better opportunity now.

I pray it will all work out

So sorry .....

I am pretty sure Medicaid is all about your INCOME. I never heard of it having anything to do with not being a citizen.

(and how ****ed up is that, that people in this country who are not citizens can get aid but those who ARE citizens can't?????? Legally here or not, that's crap.)

So sorry you are going though this .. but I would not give up on the Medicaid thing. Do you know anyone who works in a medical office who might be able to give you some insight?

Thanks Jess but we're from Queens, By Laguardia. So Suffolk is a pretty far drive. But I appreciate the thought!

yeah its prob like an hour...but if worse comes to worse even if its for a few week im sure my dad would help him out...
