I am planning a suprise party for DH for his 30th Birthday in the city. Do you girls know any good places for food and drinks and a possibly a private room? TIA.

BILs gf threw him a surprise 40th party a few months ago at the Stumble Inn (East 70s and 2nd ave)....there is a private room in the back that was nice because it had its own private entrance separate from the bar. I think the room was called the Havanah Room. She did open bar with some food (like trays of appetizers and what not) and it really wasn't that bad of a price. I can ask her for more specific info if you want.
