Re: Need some Honeymoon suggestions for under $5,000
We are goiung to La for 8 days and Hawaii for 4 days and it's costing us less than $3500. Not including spending money.
That includes airfare, hotels, and car rentals.

you could do Mexico, a good all inclusive hotel would probably cost you around 3-4,000... also, you could get a great hotel for that price in Dominican Republic...

Go to Sandals Jamaica at their newest resort- You can get the top level rooms at half off- including airfare you will still be under 5000.

definitely get an entertainment book. They have hotel listings that will give you half off their normal prices in beautiful places... that's how I went to Hawaii with a friend a few years ago.

Aruba depends on time of year a LOT....we got that price when we were going to go for Nov. at the Radisson ( 2nd best after Hyatt) BUT whenwe tried to go inMarc , we asked a million travel agents and the lowest quote we got was $6000 and that was a standard garden room...

Re: Need some Honeymoon suggestions for under $5,000
We just got back from a 7-night Southern Carribbean cruise - we went to St Thomas, Dominica, Barbados and Aruba. The cost of the cruise was about $2600 for the verandah deck (8th deck) stateroom with a balcony. We were also in the middle of the ship which was better bc you feel less of the rocking.
We used our timeshare points for our airfare to San Juan. But I heard Jet Blue has some pretty good roundtrip fares to PR. I'm sure you can get 2 roundtrip tickets from NY for $400-500.
We also stayed in San Juan 3 more nights after the cruise. I used Hotwire and got The Wyndham Condado for $99/night.
We went to Liberty Travel first - got good rates, but booked the cruise online through Orbitz and save $200.

Carnival Destiny. We had an awesome time. The ship is huge! Spitzergirl was also on the same cruise, I'm sure she'll say the same.

There are tons of places you could go in that price range, it really depends what you're looking for. You could go to many places in the Carribean- DR, Jamaica, Bahamas, you could go to Vegas and California, you could go to Disney, Key West and Miami.
