need some lovin'

need some lovin'

I know this is going to sound trival, but oh well I need to rant...

I am leaving for England on Sunday, for 5 months, and I know its only five months, but after I get married in August I am going there for about five years. Thinking about it devastates me. I am marrying a wonderful man who cares about me so very much the problem is that he is British. Leaving my family (and my dog) makes me want to cry. I have been so upset since yesterday when I left my job. Its becoming so very real. I hate the fact that I won't be part of my family's every day lives. I will only hear through phone conversations etc. I know this rant is nothing compared to some. I just am so upset. Ughh!!

i can imagine that must be difficult for you..

all i can say is that england is amazing...and the people are wonderful and its very similar to the US...

i am sure it will be hard at first but you will get used to it...

technology is wonderful- you can send pictures over email and by phones- and talk to them all the time.

you are making a sacrifice for your marriage and that is tough but i am sure it will be a wonderful experience and your fh will be greateful

also england is the gateway to europe so i am sure you will be doing tons of travelling while you are there!

what part are you going to? london?

oh Anne. I am so sorry you're feeling badly. I am sure it must be hard to leave your family (and your doggie! ). It is a huge sacrafice on your part....but on the other side of the pond Andrew is waiting for you with open arms. Your family will always be here, and you will be surprised how in touch you can stay even over such a long distance. It will also give you time to get to know your 'new' family and establish firm roots with them.

and if you really get homesick, there is NOTHING like winter airfare sales!! We're not as far away as it seems.

You're not moving to Jersey or Connecticut (no offense meant here anyone), you're moving to EUROPE!! eat it up and enjoy every minute!!

And I'll always come to visit!

There are ALWAYS cheap flights available to come home. It's as though you are moving to California - but instead moving over the pond. It will be an incredible experience. I would love to live in England for a while.

You have every right to feel the way you do. I can somewhat understand. I moved to London for 6 months in college. While I was so excited to go, I was heartbroken at the thought of not being with my family and being so far away from them. Once there and set up with email, phone, etc. it was much better. I hope that once you are settled in with your FH, you will adjust.
