the invitations where mailed out February 8, the RSVP date is March 20 & as of today we have 60 Yes & 12 No's.
we guaranteed 110 people & invited 145.
we know that we have another definite 10 No's (OOTers).
& we are waiting on 9 people who 'may' have another party that day.
so that means we will have 114 people, hoping no one else unexpectedly says No & no one gets sick.
in my opinion we are going to end up with 103 people, which means we are going to be under our guarantee.
my mom says that we can't invite more people because they will know from reading on facebook that the invites went out in February. but I think if I am just honest with them, they will understand.
Please, what the hell am I suppose to do??????

Re: need some major advice.
I don't know exactly what you're supposed to do, but I know I would that I probably wouldn't go if I were invited last minute.
This happened to my friend, she was on the 'b' list and knew it b/c the girl asked for her address just 3 weeks before the wedding. She was offended and said she couldn't go.
If you ask me what I would do if it were me, I'd take my chances for the 114.
Did you invite people without a guest, that can now bring one?

I'd invite some of my friends and politely explain it to them. And if not, invite us LIW brides.

Re: need some major advice.
I was once invited as a B-list person.. and I found it to be very rude.. especially since she told me that she's only inviting me because people cancelled.
I wouldn't tell them the truth... instead I would just send out an invitation and see what they say.

if it were me, i'd invite the extra people. i'd rather them know that they were invited late than pay for people that aren't actually there! did you count your vendors into that count?? with them counted in you may make your minimum

Re: need some major advice.
I was once invited last minute to a wedding & the bride was truthful with me, so I was not offended.
we extended guests to those people already.

Your wedding is more then a month away. I don't see anything wrong with inviting people now. I doubt they are going to come out and ask 'oh I was on the B list?' anyway. My friend invitied me without an invitation to her brothers wedding like a week before. You can guess when I said

Re: need some major advice.
can you invite the B-listers and tell them a white lie to make them feel they were in the A-list (like 'oh, did you get my invitation yet?') ... don't re-send an invitation ... just be like 'that's so weird ... i wonder if they got lost in the mail because so-and-so go theirs last week' lol

I would either allow the people who said to bring a guest if they were invited with one or just invite the extra people. If their your freinds it wouldnt matter if they got a late invite or not. Or you can just call them and remind them to RSVP and when they say that they didnt get an invite just act surprized and pretend that maybe it got lost in the mail and sent them a new one..lol

FH and I were invited as B List people - the bride and groom told us that people dropped out last minute. I don't think you need to say anything about the guarantee in your room.

Re: need some major advice.
I think last minute invites are ok. I have a couple co-workers on my last minute list, as I've already told them that unfortunately I can't officially invite anyone from work. But they are willing and want to come if I have the space.
If not, that's what your LIW girls are for

Hey, 103 is not that much less than 110. I would personally ask your venue waht they are willing to do for you to make up the difference in pricing. IE upgrade something. Throwing something extra in.
This usually resents a good opportunity to upgrade to a meal option you couldn't afford to prior. Or throw in that Viennese hour. You get the point.

Re: need some major advice.
we wound up a week and a half before the wedding contacting our facebook friends, explaining that with family politics and being told we had to invite certain people, there were some we would have loved to invite but couldnt, but thankfully we could now invite the people we wanted, and if they would like to attend, we would be honored by their presence.
we had about 10 people from facebook that were able to make it. Most understand the situation

Re: need some major advice.
thanks for all the advice ladies.
I just reviewed my facebook friends & the ones I would invite have been invited already. I also spoke to my mom & we decided that if we need to we will extend an invitation to a couple of extra people who we know will understand the situation. Fingers crossed everything works out.

Re: need some major advice.
Why don't you give your groomsmen that didn't originally have a plus one a chance to bring someone to the wedding.
hope you meet it.

Re: need some major advice.
Since your RSVP date hasnt passed yet, I think its perfectly fine and doesn't seem as last minute as a week before the date.
