Well you also have your vendors taht you have to include so they can make up for the difference if need be.

I think a good way to invite B-list people is to say that you would have loved to invite a huge amount of people but you're keeping the wedding small...but now that some of your parents friends that you don't care about aren't coming you are able to invite the friends you wanted!!!

Little white lie...but...at least they wont' get offended!

I'd beat up the invite a little and send it out... make it look like a few got lost in the mail, but then were found.

i'm trying to think about the numbers as we speak because I want to make sure we meet the min, but that we dont invite too many people also. I'm not fond of the 'b' list invites because to me it kinda seems like your 'weight listed' any only get to come if someone else doesnt. This is JMO though

You are still more than a month out, I would go ahead and send out the invites and not say anything, and just consider everyone on the 'a' list! :)

Just send out the invitation, you don't have to mention they're on the B list.

A friend from college invited me to her wedding at the end of her bachelorette party (in my sorority, a lot of people not invited to weddings come to bachelorette parties). She didn't give any long excuse or explanation - just simply said we would love to have you at the wedding. I knew it was an obvious last minute invite, but I didn't care - I was happy to have been invited.

Send out the invites, don't give a long excuse or explanation. If they want to be there, they will be happy to get their invite. If they're bitter about being on the b list, and they don't come, they're doing you a favor because you probably wouldn't want their bitterness at your wedding.
