Need some selling advice (now with pic of me!!!)

I need help! I have a gorgeous wedding gown that I'm going to sell on Ebay, but I really don't know what to ask for it and I haven't actually 'seen' the gown since I had it preserved in 1998. My parents paid over $2500 for this gown. It's an Eve of Milady, white, long sleeves (sheer), floral pattern, off the shoulder and then the waist flares out with tulle and floral appliques all over it. It has a detachable cathedral train and if I remember correctly, I had the veil and headpiece preserved as well. Everything is preserved and sealed in this huge box. I can't open it, right? It's a beautiful gown but it's collecting dust in my house. I have pics of me wearing it, but I don't have a scanner so I have to wait to post it on Ebay. My concern is that nobody will buy it because I can't tell them what condition it is because it's sealed up. I would hope and assume that it's in good condition being I preserved it immediately after my wedding. Any advice? Thanks so much girls!

I'm posting a pic of me wearing it, although you can't see the whole gown...I'll have to get some better pics...FH took a pic of the original pic with a digital camera since we don't have a scanner. It'll have to do for now. Don't mind the DOOFY smile or my big ole poof of a veil!!!

I would see what other people are getting for the same brand and style (if you can find it) on ebay and watch the auction until it ends so you can get an idea of what you can get for it...but I think you would have to open it to see that it's 100% and also if anyone has questions regarding measurements/sizing, you would have to open it anyway...
Then you would put in the description that you just opened it up after all this time to sell it and all other necessary info.

That's what I think b/c what if they get it and it's not what you described then you have more work on your hands...

Maybe other people have some ideas too...anyone??

I agree with darly. When you list the dress, mention that it was preserved in 1998 and you just opened it the day (or week or whatever) before the auction to take pics to show the current condition of the dress and take measurements. As for the asking price, I would think the most you would get would be one-third to one-half what you paid, so the starting bid should be lower. It depends on the absolute minimum price you would sell it for - that could be your reserve. I don't know how much you are expecting to get or if it even matters (maybe you just want to get rid of it). I don't know where else you could check for going rates. Maybe do a search on the web for worn wedding dresses or vintage wedding dresses.

Honestly, I'm not expecting much at all and was going to set the reserve between $300-$500. I just want to get rid of it. Bad memories attached to that day as I'm sure you could imagine. Thanks for the advice!!!

Just be honest.
I buy on ebay and honestly thats the best you can do.
Set a reserve or just post the bare minimum bid you are willing to take
