I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

It would be so nice if you and your FH could visit her. If you can make it, I'm sure it would mean a lot to her.

My grandmother died of lung cancer and it is horrible to see another granddaughter go thru this. My advise (and please take it) get to florida!!!!!! In all honestly, if I were in your shoes I would ask a local Priest/Rabbi etc...to come to my grandmother's home and perform a 'non-official' ceremony. That way your grandmother can experience your wedding. God bless.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I would definately go see her, even if you leave Frid night and come home Sun night. Make it a point for you and FH to go see her. My thoughts are with you

Melissa I responded in the 04 brides thread but Michelle has a wonderful idea. You should go down there with your FH at least to have her meet him.
JetBlue is having sales on Florida flights right now.

Michelle that is a wonderful idea. I am sitting here crying just thinking about it I am going to talk to my mom and dad tonight and make arrangements with them because she is in a Hospice.

I am going to check jetblue airlines and see what I can get. My dad and uncle are going down Jan 11 - 14. Maybe I can go down Jan 10 - 12.

I am going in February to do my dress search and I told my mother bring a camera because I know the stores dont allow you to take pictures but if I find the dress I love and we put a deposit on it, maybe we can take a picture of me in the dress because I want to give her the picture this way even though she wont be here for the wedding she'll at least been able to see me in my dress.

Its been a rough weekend. I have not stopped crying.

Melissa - everyone should meet Brian, and certainly your grandma should if it's feasible. She will love him. You guys ought to try and get down there on Jet Blue like the other girls suggested. You will make her very happy if you are able to get down there and visit with her awhile. Best of luck, sweetie, and I'll be thinking of you guys...

Melissa, I am so sorry to hear this. My FI is going through the same thing with his dad. He also has lung cancer and it's spread all over and we know that he won't be here for our July 2004 wedding, so we might be doing a blessing in his home by the priest. Just to have something special with him to remember. We are also taking him to see our reception hall.
It's a hard thing to accept. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Just show her your love and tel her.

Thank you everyone. Your thoughts and prayers mean so much to me and my family. Now if I can just stop crying. I had to buy visine because my eyes are so swollen and bloodshot.

I am definatly taking everyone's advice and going to get to FL ASAP and see her.
