I wish I had a good answer for you. I keep trying to reach the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens about this. Are they the ones you tried? It annoys me because engagement pics are not commercial or wedding photography. Their wedding photography is when they have a security guard escort a bridal party. So, I don't understand it.

the brooklyn botanical gardens is $250 for a 45 minute session. up to 20 people & they are booked in advance. however they only book within the year for that year. i called & left a message & they called me back the same day.
i do belive that all parks you are referring to do require some type of permit.

Have you checked out the New York State Department of Parks and Recreation website?

If you are open to LI, have you checked with Old Westbury Gardens? I have also seen some beautiful pictures in Central Park

I don't understand that, because if it's a engagement session then you're not having the whole bridal party. Which line did you call? Because I keep calling and never get a live person!

718-623-7220. they may have different rules for an engagement session but i don't think so.

Re: Need Suggestions! keep them coming please!
I FINALLY got an answer. If it is a professional photographer (professional camera and all that) then you need to pay $250 and security will want to see a permit.
If however, it is a regular digital camera and just a friend then it is fine. So, I've decided to do the professional e-pics at a beach (help me decide) and use one of my photographer friends for e-pics at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.
