Need to find Bagpipers

hi girls,

are any of you havig bagpipers at your church or reception? if so, can you give me the names & contact info so that i can call for prices, etc...

We too are using NYPD Emerald Society. My fh is a cop, as is most of my family, but I don't think you need a connection, I think anyone can use the pipers in the Emerald Society. I would check the NYPD web site to see if there is any info there. The site is www.nypdpipesanddrums.com. There is contact info on their site .

I seem to rememeber a couple of months ago someone was posting on this board that he did it. Don't know anything about him, but maybe give him a call.

I am using the NYPD Emerald Society because my father was a cop, but you can also try calling your local chapter of the Ancient Hiberniens... Also, I think that Stan Weisst has a bagpiper...

My grandmother got us babgpipers from the Emerald Society. They were amazing. I'll see if I can get a phone number for you from her.

We used a friend in the FDNY Emerald society. He was great! The way we did it was instead of the organist playing a recessional at the end, we had the bagpiper come in playing down the aisle and he met us at the altar and he led us out! It was great and a nice surprise for people, they didn't expect that. He also played at the reception for a bit....good luck!!

I'm having my FH's uncle play. Just curious though...when and where during your wedding are you having them play. I think I might have the Uncle play outside church and then play down the aisle to start the processional. What are you doing?

We are having 3 pipers and 2 drums. We are having them at the reception. They play for about 20 minutes. I am Irish and Mark is Italian. We are going to have the pipers play when we cut the cake, go silent for a few seconds and the dj is then going to play the Tarantella (sp). I think everyone will get a kick out of that.
