I feel your pain! I've got 575 and I'm aiming for 20 pounds...I used to be so dedicated and committed, it's terrible once you fall off and try to get back on track. I'm starting the Insanity workout on Monday, so I'll keep you posted on how that goes! The before and after pictures are my motivation. I just need to remember that I can't work my butt off and eat crap and expect it to work.

WEIGHT WATCHERS IS THE WAY TO GO!

I lost 15 pounds so far and I'm still learning what I can and cannot eat to stay within my points. I have to admit, however... this is my birthday weekend and I fear I legit might use ALL of my points in the next two days.

After my birthday weekend is over, I get right back on track. I have about 118 lbs. left to lose and 654 days in which to lose them!

Re: Need to Lose!!

I would like to lose another 30 pounds before the wedding.....

I'm trying to be realistic. I have always been overweight- but would like to lose. I want to keep my goal within reach- because I still want to be me for the wedding! Chubby or not.

As soon as school is over I am going to crack down- start the gym.... and hopefully see some results!!

how does it work? do you have to make your own meals and how do you know what to eat? I just ordered medifast to try that and see what happens. if I have to really plan meals I'll probably eat the wrong things or too much lol.

Weight watchers. Check out their site, if you stick to it, it works. It's a life style change.

Re: Need to Lose!!

I have been on weight watchers for 5 months and have lost over 30 pounds. Its a slow progression, but as 2014 brides, we have time!! What I love about it is that I am eating what I want-- date nights with FH, family functions on the weekends, etc., and I am still losing!

It works by just learning what works for you. When you first join, they calculate your daily allotment of points based on your height, weight, gender, and age. Every food item has a points value, and you eat whatever you like to spend your points. it's like money, if you feel like having pizza, it is going to cost more than a salad, but if its worth it to you, then go ahead and spend it! They even give you 49 extra weekly points to allow for life to happen-- wedding cake tasting? No other diet will let you take part, except for weight watchers. Just track it, and shape the rest of your day around it. There are many other details including exercise and other heath guidelines, but you will learn all about that once you join.

I love this program bc it is all about learning your body, what you put into your body, and keeping off the weight. In the last few years I have done Atkins, Medifast (worst week of my life),you name it. Yes you will lose weight on those, but you will not keep it off unless you stick to the strict diet.

PS, FH goes with me to the meetings and has lost 27 pounds himself. It is bonding us even more and I LOVE to go on walks with him and get lost in conversations about our big day!!!

Re: Need to Lose!!

Just have to stick with it and you will see results. My fitness pal and WW are both awesome programs to loose weight slowly so it stays off. I had gained a lot of weight for a while but since January I lost 35 pounds and am getting back to my old self which feels great. Still want to loose another 25 by the end of the year and then keep it off lol. I downloaded a point tracker app on my iPhone and did it a little but mostly I just eat right and exercise. Exercise is really key.

If you needed a quick fix for an event coming up, I'd say do low carb. I'll probably do that like for 2 weeks before my wedding. You loose like 5-8 pounds a week. That is what Victoria Secret models do before runway shows. But it is hard to stick to and once you eat carbs again you gain it all back for the most part.

Good Luck!! Seems like we all are looking to loose weight

Need to Lose!!

I have about 40 - 50 to lose myself! Weight Watchers was great but after a while I stopped losing and I was pretty hungry. I recently started the HCG diet (the drops, def NOT the shots) and I lost 4.5 lbs my first week! The first 3 days were SO rough but now I'm used to the smaller meals and I'm not hungry! I also cheated twice this week and still lost! You can only do it for 6 weeks so fingers crossed that I lose a good amount! Good luck!

Re: Need to Lose!!

I started doing medifast and lost 6lbs the first week! it's not an easy diet though. I'm trying to force down a shake right now lol. I have like 40 something more pounds to go. it's also not cheap! I probably won't be on it much longer just because yesterday I felt so sick/weak and it really messed me up for the diet but who knows maybe I'll feel a lot better today.

there are so many people though this diet works for and they lose tons. I am in general a picky eater so it's really hard for me just because of that. I imagine if I stayed on it for a few months probably like 3-4 I'd lose all the weight. it's definitely a quick diet.

but that doesn't mean it'll definitely stay off! for motivation to keep eating this powdered foods/shake I jump on the scale to see it does work lol. a lot of people regain some weight after off it. or all the weight if you go back to eating tons of bad food. that's basically any diet though. someone said medifast is like your medicine you drink to get thin. perfectly said because all day long I feel like I am taking medicines! :(

also you have to drink 8 glasses a water a day. at night I am going to pee like 20x lol.

Need to Lose!!

For the ladies who have done WW, do they give u a list of dif meals and their point values? Or lets say I cook dinner, how would I know how many points my meal would be?

I tried myfitnesspal but I found it hard to track the calories for home cooked food or certain things I would grab for lunch like a grilled chicken wrap. I wouldn't find it in the list and I couldn't add it myself because I don't know the calories in the piece of chicken etc... So certain things I tried tracking I felt were wrong and it discouraged me from using it.

I apologize for the length of this lol I don't know how I wrote so much!

When you join you get a basic little book that has generalized point values for the normal everyday foods. Such as a bagel, or butter, sour cream, a slice of pizza things like that. All fruits and veggies are 0 points which is always a great snack to grab. There is another more in depth book that you can buy that has a ton more food point values inside. You can also buy a dinning out book which tells you the point values for many meals on the go or drinks too! Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Wendy's, and a ton more.

When I did WW I downloaded an App on my iPhone and it has many dining out options or foods points programed into it you just have to search the database. It also has the scan option where you scan say a yogurt and it will pop up 3 points and you press add to diary and it deducts the points for you. If you have the nutritional info you can insert it and it will give you the point values for anything. And it can figure out how many points you get in a day so you don't even have to join WW.

Sometimes it can be tricky if you go grab a wrap but as you do it more you get an idea of how many points something would be. Like for example a plain wrap in general is maybe 4-5 points depending on size and stuff, the turkey should be in a book but I'd say 3 points and any veggies is free, and then just the dressing, so for safety I'd say that maybe its 10 points.

I'm not currently doing it, but it is a great program and if you stick with it you WILL loose weight and you will keep it off. Its not a diet it is a new healthy way of eating and it teaches you portion control and helps remind you of what is good for you and what is not. My fiancé even does it, and if he can do it anyone can lol.
