Need to vent

Need to vent

I am so upset today. I had a first Bridezilla moment today. I went to the florist. They were showing me vases and I didn't like them. They were too high. I kept telling her show me lower vases. She kept telling me that you will have too much food at the tables and because of that the vases need to be higher. She gave me ten different reasons, even though I kept telling her that its not what I want. She was like people will not see each other if they sit across from each other. I couldn't take it anymore and I said, I don't care because its my wedding. She maid a weird face and after few minutes called the owner. I was ok talking to the owner and got to know all the prices. I was so upset since I feel that its my day and I am paying for it . Shouldn't I get what I want?
How much are you girls spending on flowers? My restaurant is paying for 18 roses for each table. The florist told me if I want clear vases they will give me all together 60 roses but I have to pay $60 per table. Together with my bouquet and bridesmaid it all comes out to around $910(for 12 table/42 roses per table) Is that good?
Sorry this is so long. Just needed to vent.

Its your wedding and you should get what you want.

That being said... she is right... you do want to take into account the height of heads when your sitting. There is nothing worse then being at a wedding and being unable to see the people across from you. I chose very high vases (and just eliminated my low flowers completely), for that reason. Make sure when you are sitting down you can not see only a face full of flowers, because then your centerpieces will end up on the floor so people can see each other. I've seen it happen.

But I agree, its your wedding, you should have what you want and she should at least be showing you what you want to see. Even if her reasons are valid.

Michelle, I definitely know what you mean. I also understand her. But the problem is that the ceiling in the restaurant is lower than in other places. She showed me pics of flowers standing in that restaurant and at some tables they were touching the ceiling. If people have to look up to see the flowers, what's the point of having them. I am also not crazy about the ceiling and don't want people noticing it too much. Not sure if that makes sense but that's what I think. How high are your vases? The vase I like is 20 in.
