I decided, okay tonight is the night to gently bring up the topic of the rehearsal dinner. I say, you know, people are starting to ask about the rehearsal dinner, as the wedding is getting closer and people are wanting to make their arrangements. She says...oh...what are mom and dad planning....MOM AND DAD?!?!?!?!?!?! I reply, mom and dad are doing nothing, they've done enough...I get...oh...$h!t....and nothing else....we leave shortly after this exchange, she obviously knows i'm pi$$ed and is like oh say hi to your family....yeah whatever....we get in the car and I say to FH...well I guess we aren't having a rehearsal dinner, and we proceed to have a HUGE blowout fight....he goes oh she doesn't know...bull$h!t, she knows, because when her daughter got married 5 years ago her FMIL pulled the same thing and they stepped up and paid for everything...so I say she paid for 2 showers, 2 gitfs all for your sisters and don't THINK she WON'T pay for the christenings for the new babies, and she thinks my family has money and he's going to get a free ride for the next 50 years.....WRONG!!!!! He says, I'll pay for it, OH NO YOU WON'T......That's exactly what she wants, I'm so tired of her cr@p and her not stepping up and accepting her responsibilities, this is the last straw, I'm really ready to call off the wedding, which would be exactly what she wants, let him live at home and kiss her @$$ for the rest of her life, I'm so done!!!!!!!!! Thanks for reading ladies, I just really needed to vent!

Thats awful. Deep breath. At least tonight happens and now she knows what you expect from her. If she hasnt made a move in a month or so I would get all bridezilla. Until then, she can sulk that she didnt get out of this one, and hopefully book something.

im so sorry!! maybe when it sinks in fmil will help u guys. it really is unfair. it will def work out. maybe since ur getting married when its warmer, she can do a bbq or something?

We suggested that and FH is all i'll just pay for it, that's not the point the point is it's HER responsibility and if she wants to do that it's fine but she's supposed to HOST and FOOT THE BILL...she's gotten out of EVERYTHING she was supposed to pay for and I'm so tired of it!

Oh my goodness...I am so sorry you are going through this....how is your relationship with FMIL to begin with? Sounds like we can trade FMIL stories....mine is horrible! As of now, she isn't coming to the wedding...which is fine by me...
Isn't it normal for FH's family to pay for the rehearsal dinner? I thought that was in the etiquette somewhere.... I'd google it for sure to prove a point!
Hang in there girl...FM if you ever want to trade FMIL horror stories.....

Lets just say theres no love loss and if she didnt come to the wedding it wouldnt be the worst thing..the grooms family is ...according to etiquette..supposed to pay for the RH...I can't take this anymore, she's got on my last nerve!!!!! We should totally trade stories!!!!!

Im so sorry! If it was me I would (in the nicest way I could!) say to her...FH and I were hoping that you would take care of the RH. My parents just cant afford that expense too. See what happens! HTH Feel better...

The funniest thing is FH & I has an argument about this very issue Fri night. his parents are willing to pay for it and he feels like they shouldn't b/c he doesn't want them to spend anymore money. This is after he asked me to ask one of my bm's boyfriends if he was coming. Now, he agress they will have it but without any boyfriends, so now I have to disinvite him and I am very angry over this. I am just going to tell my BM exactly what happened b/c I feel ridiculous doing this.

oh jenna..first off im so sorry this happened to u..thats pretty crappy of her..def dont call off this wedding cause u would just give her satisfaction and even beyond all the bs its u and him..thats it.. i would give just a bit of time and if she still dont come around i say bite the bullet and pay for urselves..if she goves u lip say well we wanted this and it was important to us and since u didnt want to hellp us we just took care of it..sometimes taking the higher road as hard as it is shows someone the right thing they should have done..i hope u feel better soon

Im so sorry hun! My FIl's havent mentioned a RD and I really dont care. We arent have a rehearsal because we are getting married at the RH so I guess its a little different. I hope everything works out
