Need Veil Help Girls!!!

Need Veil Help Girls!!!

So I went and tried on my gown this weekend and it looked beautiful. I found a veil and headpiece that matched perfectly. I loved them both... The problem is this... Together (the veil and headpiece)they came to $2000!!!

So my question is this... Does anyone know of a place that I can find a two layer cathedral length veil with an ancelon lace edge for a reasonable price?? The veil was the most expensive part ($1500) so if I can at least find the veil for less, maybe I could get the headpiece from the bridal salon. I really need your help girls. I absolutely loved this veil but there's no way I can swing that much money. And I'm not sure about eBay because if it doesn't match the gown, I need to be able to return it.

Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!

Try Barron's @ Tri-County. She can make whatever you want. It might be a lil pricy, but I'm sure nowhere near $1500!!!

Good luck!

Yay! I'm glad you like your gown!

What material is the veil made of? Is it silk? That might be partly why it's so expensive. But silk photographs so nicely! If you want bridal illusion instead, try weddingveil.com. I got mine from there. & it photographs well, except w/ extreme closeups, where the texture shows up too much. I'll FM you some pics. I'm thinking of changing to a cathedral length silk tulle, myself. I have to research it more.

It was a regular veil (not silk) with ancelon lace edging.

ETA: I'll definitely give baron's a shot. Where is she located in tri-county?

where did you get your gown from? was the veil from the same designer?

i went to barron's this weekend, thomas knoell and the wedding salon in search of the perfect tiara.

i'm not sure if barron's does the alecon lace... what did the tiara look like?

Re: Need Veil Help Girls!!!

The gown is by Alvina Valenta, I don't know who makes the veil and tiarra but the lace on the veil matched perfectly to the lace on the dress. The HP was crystal and pearls in no particular design. It was just in a half moon shape but not that long. It was more like a comb than a tiarra.

oh the reason i asked is cause i saw this bride on saturday at the wedding salon in manhasset - and she had on a lace trimmed veil that looked simply amazing. but i bet it's just as pricey.

not sure about barron's having the lace, but i guess they could.

thomas knoell had some more selections of veils too --- definitely less than 2,000 bucks.

i may end up touring the city to see if i can find something 'right'....

i am having mine made to match my alvina valenta alencon lace dress. Phyllis from gownfind will be making it for me. She even said that she would go into the city to get the lace to match exact. She quoted me less than $200 I think! You should call her. My friend actually made her own with the lace from her mom's wedding dress. She said it was really easy and I am sure you can find instructions on the internet somewhere.

What time were you in the wedding salon of manhasset on Saturday?? I was there at 2:30 trying on my gown and veil/hp!! How funny would it be if we were there at the same time and didn't know it!?

OK, maybe it's just me!!! But to pay that kind of money for Tulle!!!! It's outrageous. I've seen really beautiful and affordable ones on ebay. I've chatted with a number of knotties (Theknot.com) that have gotten their veils on Ebay. I'm sorry but it's just TULLE!!!!

JMO!!! Please don't blast me!!!
