Need Veil Help Girls!!!

Original post by Jennie0898

So I went and tried on my gown this weekend and it looked beautiful. I found a veil and headpiece that matched perfectly. I loved them both... The problem is this... Together (the veil and headpiece)they came to $2000!!!

So my question is this... Does anyone know of a place that I can find a two layer cathedral length veil with an ancelon lace edge for a reasonable price?? The veil was the most expensive part ($1500) so if I can at least find the veil for less, maybe I could get the headpiece from the bridal salon. I really need your help girls. I absolutely loved this veil but there's no way I can swing that much money. And I'm not sure about eBay because if it doesn't match the gown, I need to be able to return it.

Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!

OK, maybe it's just me!!! But to pay that kind of money for Tulle!!!! It's outrageous. I've seen really beautiful and affordable ones on ebay. I've chatted with a number of knotties (Theknot.com) that have gotten their veils on Ebay. I'm sorry but it's just TULLE!!!!

JMO!!! Please don't blast me!!!

That's what I'm saying!!! I think it's crazy to pay $1500 for a veil. That's why I'm asking around. I can't find a cathedral length veil with ancelon lace trim (similar to the one ChristineAE is looking for) and it be two layers. I want a similar shape to a mantilla (sp?) but have it on a comb.

Have you check ebay and veilshop. Those are the ones that come to mind so far. I'm even considering making my own, the instructions seem easy enough. Let's see how THAT goes!!!

I wish you luck in your search and remeber it's just TULLE!!

oh the reason i asked is cause i saw this bride on saturday at the wedding salon in manhasset - and she had on a lace trimmed veil that looked simply amazing. but i bet it's just as pricey.

not sure about barron's having the lace, but i guess they could.

thomas knoell had some more selections of veils too --- definitely less than 2,000 bucks.

i may end up touring the city to see if i can find something 'right'....

What time were you in the wedding salon of manhasset on Saturday?? I was there at 2:30 trying on my gown and veil/hp!! How funny would it be if we were there at the same time and didn't know it!?

When I saw your dress in your bio I figured it was you b/c I recognized the dress. That veil was simply GORGEOUS! I know that doesn't help, but it REALLLLLLLLY matched perfectly!

I am having my veil made by Kathy Occansey.

Here's the link

She comes highly recommended from the Knot.

Good luck!
